GENERAL SUMMARY
The Estimator is a key member of the estimating team, responsible for assisting in the creation of accurate cost estimates and supporting business development efforts for Greenberry Industrial. This role focuses on industrial construction projects, including but not limited to:
Structural (Fabrication/Installation)
Process Systems:
Pipe (Fabrication/Installation)
Pumps/Motors
Rotating Equipment (Fans/Blowers)
Module Fabrication/Installation
This position provides technical expertise and analytical support for estimating efforts, ensuring that project bids align with company objectives. The role involves working closely with senior estimators, project managers, and business development teams to generate accurate, competitive estimates and develop client relationships.
Prior exposure to an industrial fabrication facility or shop is required to ensure a foundational understanding of materials, processes, and workflow in industrial construction environments.
PRIMARY DUTIES
Assist in the preparation of cost estimates by analyzing project plans, specifications, and scope requirements.
Collaborate with senior estimators to solicit bids from vendors and subcontractors, track proposals, and provide cost analysis.
Support the review of project documentation to ensure complete and accurate estimates.
Contribute to the development of conceptual budgets based on limited initial information.
Participate in the evaluation of general conditions, schedules, scopes of work, and logistics plans.
Assist in analyzing alternate methods and materials to determine the most cost-effective solutions.
Work with the business development team to support client engagement and relationship-building efforts.
Ensure all estimating documentation is organized and maintained for future reference.
Support industry and client outreach initiatives to promote Greenberry Industrial’s services.
SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITY
This role operates under general supervision with structured training and mentorship from Senior Estimators and the Estimating Manager. The Estimator will gain experience in project cost analysis, vendor coordination, and industrial construction estimating. The position involves regular communication with internal teams, clients, subcontractors, and suppliers to gather information and refine estimates.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or Equivalent Experience (Shop experience highly desirable!)
1-5+ years of relevant experience in estimating, construction, or industrial project coordination (internships or co-op experience preferred).
Exposure to an industrial fabrication facility or shop is required (through internships, academic projects, co-ops, or work experience).
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.).
Familiarity with estimating and BIM modeling software (SolidWorks, Navisworks, Strumis, or similar) is a plus.
Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Willingness to learn, take initiative, and contribute as part of a collaborative team.
Ability to travel occasionally as required.
WORK ENVIRONMENT & SCHEDULE
Normal working hours: Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Flexible work hours may be considered.
Some extended hours, travel, and overnight stays may be required.
