Burns & McDonnell Senior Project Engineer - Substation in Vancouver, Washington

Burns & McDonnell is seeking a Project Engineer to take control of their career potential in our Vancouver office. This position will lead and manage a multi-discipline team in the development of engineered substation designs to support the safe and reliable delivery of electricity across the United States and Northwest. Opportunities may include, but not limited to:
Managing overall engineering design efforts for Design-Only and EPC projects to optimize safety, schedule, and profitability.
Leading and mentoring a team of multi-discipline professionals to ensure project success.
Managing the implementation of the Quality Program for engineering designs.
Preparing and managing the final engineering labor-hour budgets.
Partnering with a projects controls team to manage the engineering design schedule, budget, and progress measurement function.
Preparing, submitting, and managing client change orders.
Managing subcontracted product procurement and/or engineering design efforts.
Directing and managing field services.
Presenting designs and proposals to clients, permitting authorities, public interest groups, etc.
Corresponding and/or meeting with clients, contractors, and vendors.
Leading project proposal efforts.
Qualifications
Bachelor Degree in Engineering from an ABET accredited university and 7 years of direct project engineering experience managing design efforts for Design-only and EPC projects. Required
Expert knowledge in degreed engineering discipline. Basic knowledge in all other engineering disciplines.
Strong facilitation, team building, collaboration, organization and problem-solving skills.
Highly effective communicator with clear and concise writing and presentation skills.
High level of attention to detail.
Proficient computer skills (e.g. Microsoft Office Suite).
Ability to develop and manage workplans, schedules and budgets.
Provide leadership to a diverse project teams will be preferred.
Professional Engineer (PE) License Preferred
Compensation
$155,000.00-215,000.00 Annually
The expected compensation range for this position is displayed in compliance with all local/state regulations. The expected compensation range for this position is based on a number of factors, including but not limited to: individual education, qualifications, prior work experience and work location. The total annual compensation package will consist of a base salary and eligibility to participate in our discretionary year-end incentive bonus program.
