Position Summary

As a Senior Quality Engineer at Energizer Brands you will be responsible for leading a team of quality professionals providing coaching, support, and technical guidance for the Dayton facility on quality related practices. Your team will drive quality results by partnering with Operations, Customers, and the Quality Lab team to ensure quality processes are followed, accuracies are measured, and action plans are put in place to drive continuous improvement efforts throughout the operation process.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and monitor quality systems and processes

  • Use data to provide coaching and guidance to Operations and R&D on system requirements and strategies to manage compliance

  • Lead Customer Complaint management system

  • Serve as the point of contact for customer complaints, monitor system for trends and effectiveness

  • Coach production teams on investigation process and results

  • Mitigate future risks and lead investigations as needed

  • Foster a collaborative work environment while acting as a liaison between Operations and R&D, working proactively to ensure the success of new product trials and startups

  • Manage quality issues with our suppliers and contract manufacturing sites to resolve supplier quality issues by issuing Corrective Action Reports

  • Develop and deliver quality systems training and serve as a technical resource for quality issues and on continuous improvement projects, continuously developing technical knowledge and providing training to the organization on relevant learnings

  • Lead design and implementation of internal quality auditing program

  • Establish metrics and goals for the program, coach Quality Technicians and Quality Auditors on auditing techniques and principles

  • Use prior experiences to help problem solve, search and apply solutions

  • Work with the organization to align on implementation plans

  • Champion quality across the organization to ensure delivery of defect free products to our customers and consumers

  • Assist with management of internal Quality Incident and corrective/preventive action system

  • Coach incident owners on root cause analysis process and development of corrective and preventive actions

  • Maintain calibration program for the equipment used in Lab & Production

  • Represent the quality team on continuous improvement projects

  • Coach teams to develop action plans for quality system improvements utilizing tools such as root cause analysis and why-why methodologies

What we are looking for

  • Bachelor’s degree

  • 7+ years of Quality Engineering (designing, implementing, managing, and auditing quality systems) or relevant work experience

  • Quality Management Systems’ (QMS) tools and requirements experience

  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment

  • Expert problem solving–driving issues to root cause/corrective action with a process-oriented, analytical, problem-solving ability

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Ability to understand, interpret and follow policies, practices and procedures and relay this information to cross functional teams

  • Demonstrated partnership skills

  • Ability to represent the business independently when working externally with suppliers and contract manufacturers

  • Ability to make decisions and operate with minimal supervision in a dynamic environment

  • Ability to prioritize, follow up and use data to manage quality systems and drive decisions

  • Capable of creating and delivering quality systems and training programs

  • Serve as a site technical resource for quality program training and coaching

  • Ability to understand and manage quality and/or compliance issues and make recommendations for action steps to deal with risks

What we prefer

  • Strong experience with leadership, coaching, and mentoring

  • Understanding of Lean manufacturing principles

  • Working knowledge of SAP/WMS

  • Previous supervisory experience

  • Prior knowledge of consumer goods industry
