Eaton Corporation Quality Engineer in Vantaa, Finland

Eaton´s new campus for its critical power systems in Vantaa, Finland , integrates all current activities into a much larger site. Campus is completed by the end of 2023, and the 16,500 m² site will house research and development, manufacturing, warehousing, sales and service under one roof and will create up to 100 additional jobs.

As one of the world’s largest manufacturers of three-phase uninterruptible power supplies (UPS), Eaton’s expansion in this area is driven by strong business growth and the demand for systems that ensure business continuity. Situated in a prime location next to the Helsinki airport, the Vantaa facility will serve as Eaton’s Critical Power Solutions headquarters and a center of excellence for data centers.

What you’ll do:

Are you passionate about quality assurance, process engineering, and keen to play a pivotal role in a capacity expansion project? We are seeking a dedicated Quality Engineer to ensure that our production lines and processes are optimized to meet increased demand without compromising quality standards.

This role is not just about overseeing the quality of existing products, but also about ensuring a smooth transition as we scale up to meet customer requirements. You will be at the forefront of designing efficient production processes and workflows, reducing non-conformances and costs, and addressing production issues.

Your main responsibilities will be:

  • Quality Management: Oversee updates to the quality management system and develop procedures relevant to expanded operations, ensuring compliance with adopted standards during capacity expansion.

  • Audit and Compliance: Assist in planning and conducting internal audits focusing on expanded areas, and collaborate with project teams to ensure product compliance according to regulations concerning increased capacity demands.

  • Lead Risk Assessments: Lead risk assessments for new/existing products and manage risk reduction measures.

  • Spearhead Process Development & Change Control: Drive process development initiatives aimed at improving production line capacities and efficiencies during scale-up phases. Implement effective change control strategies to ensure smooth transitions.

Qualifications:

  • A suitable degree in the field of engineering or related field is preferred.

  • Proven experience in quality assurance or similar roles within manufacturing environments.

Skills:

  • In-depth knowledge of electronics and manufacturing with quality mindset.

  • Proficiency in conducting problem-solving, risk assessments and implementing risk mitigation strategies.

  • Good working knowledge of PFMEA and Lean principles

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written in English and Finnish.

  • Willingness to learn more and constantly develop the manufacturing environment in cooperation with others.
