Robert Half Audit Manager - Public in Ventura, California

Description We are in search of an Audit Manager - Public to join our team in Ventura, California. This role will primarily focus on ensuring compliance of our affordable property portfolio. The Audit Manager will oversee compliance functions related to various affordable programs, manage the review and approval process of tenant files, and assist with leasing and compliance training.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee and ensure timely completion of the Annual Recertification process for each property

• Review weekly AR reports to assess progress and communicate any inconsistencies to the relevant supervisors

• Conduct post AR file reviews to ensure quality and accuracy of resident files

• Prepare for and conduct audits of resident files in anticipation of State, County, City, and Federal audits and inspections

• Review and approve tenant files for eligibility, which may include move-ins, first year recertifications, annual recertifications, unit transfers and interim files

• Assist in implementing Compliance training for the Property Management staff

• Assist the leasing team with marketing and lease-up activities of new sites in relation to occupancy requirements

• Ensure staff compliance with regulatory requirements relating to the setup and ongoing maintenance of resident files and general project compliance

• Assist in the completion of monthly submissions of the USDA-RD rents through MINC

• Respond to compliance-related questions from staff and agencies under the guidance of the Property Management Director

• Collaborate on new procedures and preparation in Compliance training for current and new Property Management staff

• Responsible for entering new rents into YARDI for all properties. Requirements • Proficiency in using 3M and CaseWare software tools

• Deep understanding and experience with Accounting Software Systems

• Demonstrated experience in Audit Program design and implementation

• Familiarity with ERP - Enterprise Resource Planning systems

• Strong knowledge of Accounting Functions

• Proven experience in managing Audit Engagements

• Solid understanding and experience of Auditing practices

• Strong knowledge of Compliance regulations and best practices

• Ability to prepare and analyze Financial Statements

• Familiarity with HUD regulations and requirements

• Proficiency in using Yardi software for property management and accounting.
