Description Robert Half is currently working with a client seeking a cost accountant. The Cost Accountant is a critical role responsible for the ongoing analysis of product cost, development of new product cost and margin analysis. You will also work closely with the sales teams and senior financial management team to establish customer pricing. Key responsibilities

• Generate financial statements that comply with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)

• Examine the data collected and log a detailed record of the results

• Analyze any changes in goods or services provided in order to determine what effect it has on the cost

• Perform variance analysis, including Purchase Price to Cost variance, cost revaluation, Invoice to PO price variances and work order variances

• Analyze manufacturing costs and prepare regular reports comparing standard costs to actual production costs

• Monitor the cycle count program and conduct physical inventories

• Decide costs of business activity, including raw material purchases, inventory, and labor usage, waste

• Help prepare general ledgers and assist in audits

• Analyze costs and recommend cost savings

• Create and manage the cost accounting system, documents, and records of the organization

• Create internal cost audits

• Execute standardized costing methodology for all domestic plants

• Make estimates of new and proposed product costs

• Provide management with reports that specify and compare factors that affect prices and profitability of products or services Requirements - High analytical and extremely detailed

• Strong understanding of organizational accounting concepts

• Experience utilizing cost management methodologies, activities, and cost pools based on direct and indirect cost rates

• Aptitude for analyzing financial data and generating accurate reports in a timely manner

• Bachelors degree in accounting or related field

• 2 years of Cost Accounting work experience

• Attention to detail and demonstrated ability to follow standard procedures is a requirement
