LSI Solutions Shipping Clerk - Days (9am to 5:30pm) Mon - Fri in Victor, New York

POSITION TITLE: Shipping Clerk - Days

LOCATION: Onsite at LSI Solutions in Victor, NY

HOURLY PAY RANGE: $18.00hr to $25.00hr

SHIFT HOURS: 9:00AM - 5:30PM

JOB SUMMARY: The Shipping Clerk is responsible for accurate inventory transactions to and from suppliers and customers, for both internal and external suppliers and customers. This position will work with the Quality Department, Materials Department and others as needed to support manufacturing and finished goods shipments to meet company requirements. The position tier will be determined by the individual’s level of proficiency and the scope of responsibilities, as determined by management.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Levels are determined by the skills and requirements needed for a particular area that an employee has been trained and deemed competent in, along with having responsibilities in those areas.

Level I

  • Work with desk top computers and hand-held computers (scanners) to process ALL inventory transactions.

  • Ensure accurate processing, packaging, and shipments to customers, including any other company shipments.

  • Available to drive late shipments to UPS & Fed Ex drop offs.

  • Perform material handling operations for shipments and receipts, including lifting, moving, and storing of various size packages (up to 50lbs) and other material handling support functions as needed.

  • Maintain inventory of all consumables needed to perform shipping functions.

  • Support coverage for vacations and holidays as needed.

    Level II

  • Perform Level 1 functions efficiently and effectively without continuous supervision.

  • Prepare documentation, maintain records, coordinate logistics for international shipments. and ensure documentation accuracy.

  • Review customer order and comply with stated terms of shipment, must be knowledgeable of Incoterms 2010 (2020), and customer requirements.

  • Coordinate and manage shipments with appropriate carrier or freight forwarder.

  • Track shipments through to delivery helping solve any documentation or shipping errors preventing delivery.

  • Maintain compliance of International shipping guidelines and customs regulations, maintain records retention.

  • Cross functional interaction with Sales, Marketing and Customer Relations teams.

  • Easily transition between the Domestic and International shipping areas to backfill when needed.

  • Process sterilization – wrapping, banding and weighing all skids, as well as scheduling shipping.

  • Schedule domestic shipping of raw material shipments as needed.

  • Process all RMA’s.

    Senior

  • All Essential Functions listed in Levels I and II.

  • Assist in supervision of staff and monitor productivity.

  • Cross functional interaction with Sales, Marketing and Customer Relations teams.

  • Serve as backup to Logistics Manager as required.

    ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Operate the box truck to transport materials across campus as needed.

  • All other duties as assigned.

    EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.

  • 1-2 years’ experience in a highly regulated industry with materials handling, storing, restocking of raw materials and subassemblies, and/or maintenance of lot traceability records preferred.

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

    Level I:

  • Extremely detail oriented.

  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions and consistently demonstrate compliance.

  • Proficient using a computer for simple to moderately complex tasks.

  • Excellent organizational skills.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities at the same time.

  • Ability to problem solve and troubleshoot when necessary.

  • Will ask questions when unclear of direction or instructions in the workplace.

  • Ability to work independently or alongside team members with minimal supervision.

  • Strong hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.

  • Familiar with forklift and pallet jack operation.

  • Working knowledge of ERP software preferred.

  • Working knowledge of Warehouse Management System software preferred.

  • Ability to provide proof of a valid driver (http://www.indeed.com/q-Driver-jobs.html) ’s license with a satisfactory driving (http://www.indeed.com/q-Driving-jobs.html) record, to be determined by the company.

    Level II:

  • Able to create metrics, maintain databases, analyze and recognize trends and inconsistencies.

  • Experience with continuous improvement efforts of systems and processes.

  • Familiarity assisting with quality audits.

    Senior:

  • Demonstrated ability to assist in the supervision, training, and coaching of others.
