Navy Federal Credit Union Intern - Year Round (Learning & Talent Development) in Vienna, Virginia
Overview
To gain valuable insight into Navy Federal's business, technology, resources and procedures by providing support in communications and marketing within the Learning & Talent Development division, applying knowledge and education. Participate in a collaborative, team driven network and interact with multiple departments in supporting the growth and career development of employees enterprise wide. Receive guidance and direction from team and management. Utilize and further develop technical and soft skills, creative writing, business knowledge, and problem-solving abilities. Provide professional execution of day-to-day tasks and special projects while working within established standards, policies and procedures. This is a year-round, Full-Time, flexible internship based on school schedule.

Responsibilities
Develop internal communications for enterprise or department events and campaigns designed to inform and/or drive action
Create, write, and produce timely internal communications (e.g., emails, posters, infographics, blog posts, talking points, PowerPoints, etc.) to inform management and employees while ensuring consistent messaging and organizational vision
Provide editorial content for Navy Federal’s intranet site
Maintain a uniform editorial style to support the Navy Federal brand and guiding principles
Serve as business unit client consultant and liaison for internal communication projects
Support the development of cohesive communication strategies for important company-wide and department initiatives to produce effective, timely deliverables
Consult and collaborate with clients, leaders, and stakeholders across the organization to build relationships and provide guidance to effectively plan, compose, and manage the preparation, design, production, and distribution of a wide variety of employee communications
Proofread and edit content for standardization to ensure clarity and accuracy
Counsel clients by recommending the most effective and efficient communication tactics and tools for messages that deliver accurate, timely, and high-quality products to audience segments
Conduct research, compile information, and present recommendations that have limited to moderate impact
Provide administrative support to the team and serve as a resource to others in the department
Qualifications
Must be pursuing a degree from an accredited college/university
Ability to exercise initiative and good judgment to make sound decisions
Ability to adapt to new technologies
Ability to provide exceptional customer service
Ability to work independently and in a team environment
Effective interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
Effective research, analytical, and problem solving skills
Effective skill maintaining accuracy with attention to detail and meeting deadlines
Effective word processing and spreadsheet software skills
Effective organizational, planning and time management skills
Must be pursing degree from an accredited college/university
Desired:
Communications/Marketing Major (preferably working on Master’s)
Strong writing skills
Graphic skills (Canva experience is a plus)
Strong organization skills
Effective time management
