As a professional in your role, your responsibilities and essential job functions will include but are not limited to:

  • Oversee the daily operations of the hotel rooms division, including guest services, housekeeping, and reservations.

  • Ensure high standards of cleanliness, maintenance, and presentation of all hotel rooms and public areas.

  • Coordinate with housekeeping staff to ensure efficient turnover of rooms and timely response to guest requests.

  • Manage room inventory and availability, including reservations, cancellations, and room assignments.

  • Monitor and analyse room occupancy, rates, and revenue to maximize profitability.

  • Train, supervise, and motivate staff to provide exceptional guest service and maintain productivity.

  • Implement and enforce hotel policies and procedures to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.

  • Handle guest complaints and resolve issues in a prompt and professional manner.

  • Collaborate with other hotel departments, such as front office and maintenance, to ensure seamless operations.

  • Prepare reports and budgets related to room division performance and expenses.

Ideally, you should possess some or all the following qualifications and experience:

  • Preferably with prior experience in managing hotel pre-opening operations.

  • Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management or related field preferred.

  • Proven experience in hotel management, with at least 2-3 years in a supervisory role within the rooms division.

  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to effectively manage a diverse team.

  • Excellent organizational and time-management abilities to handle multiple tasks and priorities.

  • Knowledge of hotel reservation systems and property management software.

  • Understanding of revenue management principles and strategies.

  • Customer-focused mindset with a commitment to delivering exceptional service.

  • Problem-solving skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure.

  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.

  • Familiarity with health and safety regulations and procedures.

  • Certification in hospitality management or related field is a plus.
