Red Hat Senior Site Reliability Engineer in Australia

Red Hat is looking to hire a senior SRE (Senior Customer Success Architect) for the Red Hat Demo Platform team. In this role you’ll oversee demos, workshops and lab environment health. This work will include but is not limited to ticket queue tracking, incident triage, troubleshooting and escalation and coordination, customer facing workshops support, infrastructure readiness, status reporting and process improvements, integration with various internal and partner-focused enablement programs and communications alignment. The SRE will work across functions to meet dynamic business needs. The SRE will maintain our Openshift environments and take an instrumental part in development of our open source platform based on Openshift, Ansible, Python and GoLang.

What you will do

  • Work as a part of a global engineering and support team (multiple time zones) to deliver stability and to support enablement and technical sales activities.

  • Resolve users’ incidents, identify problems and maintain a high degree of customer service

  • Maintain the platform, infrastructure & tools to ensure successful demo and labs launches

  • Complex Software Application Maintenance and Automation

  • Continually iterate and improve dev processes to optimize Devops metrics; speed up response times and resolution times, improve the overall quality of activities

  • Support Red Hat’s private cloud infrastructure running on multi-cloud environments (AWS, GCP, Azure, IBM and more)

  • Work with global cross company teams

  • Manage the life cycle of technical assets in the catalog, including onboarding, maintenance and retirement

  • Engage in incident management - triage, troubleshooting, escalation and proper stakeholders communication management

  • Own Devops KPIs and metrics and optimize services

  • Support company events, hackfests, electronic trainings and instructor led-training sessions

  • Develop our platform fand API components

  • Secured open source development

  • Maintaine our Openshift, VMware, Openstack and Ansible based environments

What you will bring

  • Experience in technical support or customer services organization within a technology-oriented environment

  • Experience with leading technical events, lab/demo infrastructure setup and support

  • Ability to handle multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high attention to detail

  • Experience working in agile, cross-functional, matrix organization

  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills

  • Experience working with Service Now or a similar ITSM platform

  • Familiarity with industry best practices related to delivery management and open source software development, preferably in regulated environments

  • Experience working successfully across cultures, time zones, and languages

  • Strong customer service skills

  • 8+ years of experience as an SRE working with public cloud providers, in a software development company

  • 7+ years experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux and open source technologies

  • 5+ years experience development in Python, SQL, Bash, Ansible and GoLang

  • 8+ years experience with Openshift, Docker, Kubernetes

  • 3+ years experience as an architect

  • 3+ years experience with VMware

  • 2+ years experience with OpenStack - advantage

  • Experience working with Git. Jira and Confluence

  • Proven ability to build and nurture relationships across multiple teams and to diligently follow through on commitments

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, Agile based innovative environment, working on many projects and responsibilities at the same time with ability to reprioritize effectively when needed

  • Familiarity with Red Hat’s infrastructure technologies, particularly in the emerging technologies space, cloud, containers, automation, and DevOps

  • A desire and passion to work for a startup like group within Red Hat and ability to hold several hats

  • Red Hat certification holder - a must
