Amentum Multimedia/Training Apprentice in Bahamas, The

Amentum is seeking a Multimedia/Training Apprentice to support the Atlantic Undersea Test and Evaluation Center (AUTEC) Mission in Andros Island, Bahamas . AUTEC is a Major Range and Test Facility Base (MRTFB) and the Naval Undersea Warfare Center, Division Newport's largest single team project, providing both deep and shallow water test and training environments.

Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. Government Clearance. Note: U.S. Citizenship is required to obtain a Secret Clearance.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Manage Multimedia email box and prioritize incoming multimedia requests accordingly.

  • Take digital photographs and videos on Andros as requested (e.g., facilities, equipment, structures).

  • Edit photographs and video as necessary and provide photographs/video to customer in method/on media requested.

  • Provide photography services support for program functions for special events, visitors, and conferences.

  • Process photographs and videos in accordance with strict government and classified protocols.

  • Be on-call after hours for any photographic requirements related to mishaps.

  • Update External Newport webpage as needed (e.g., AUTEC's Condition of Readiness (COR) status, uploading data files).

  • Update Close Circuit Television (Channel 4, OIC Channel) as needed or required (i.e., Hurricane/Tropical Storm updates).

  • Oversee annual and quarterly audits of multimedia equipment.

  • Maintain an organized folder structure of photographs on the AUTEC server.

  • Maintain required multimedia records and logs.

  • Prepare monthly progress reports.

  • Perform data entry into the training database to update employee training and position records.

  • Update training calendar with class schedules and classroom reservations.

  • Create training certificates for employees after completion of in-house training classes.

  • Help manage Training Services email box. Organize, file and respond to incoming emails.

  • Occasionally covers Post Office duties when requested.

  • Acts as Primary Guard Mail Coordinator for Ad min West Building.

  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements:

  • High school graduate or equivalent.

  • 0 - 3 years of relevant experience.

  • Must have excellent customer relation skills and the ability to interface effectively with Customer, Range User, Navy, vendor, and M&O Contractor personnel.

  • Must be competent in the Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Adobe Photoshop software.

  • Must be able to sit, stand, or crawl for extended periods of time.

  • Must be able to lift, carry, push/pull photographic equipment up to 50 pounds.

  • Must be able to conduct photographic operations working at heights, aboard fixed and rotary-winged aircraft and seafaring vessels and possess fine visual attention to ensure a quality finished product. Will teach this task and should have working knowledge with 6 months experience a plus.

  • Must be able to perform duties in a business-like manner and to work effectively in a Navy environment.

  • Must be able to work independently.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

  • Must be willing to work overtime as necessary and travel to downrange Site 2 as needed.

  • Must be able to reside in remote location with limited medical facilities.

  • Valid passport is required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with basic web-page and Close Circuit Television script editing preferred.

  • Minimum 2-years related experience working as a photographer/video preferred.

  • Minimum 2-years related experience with taking photographs/video in secured classified areas preferred.

  • Experience working in an administrative support environment preferred.

  • Have a firm understanding of data reporting, central filing systems, and Navy protocol preferred.

  • Competency in Firecast and VISION are desirable with ability to learn.
