Oracle Principal Network Developer in Canada

Job Description

The Oracle DDOS team is the front-line defense for all DDoS threats world-wide, against the Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), customers and services. Our architecture must be highly scalable, performant, and continually evolve against threats as they emerge.

Candidates who enjoy challenging, performance sensitive environments, have deep analytical skills along with the ability to lead cross functional technical teams, provide structured documentation to senior leaderships, and provide detailed scope and solutions to business critical problems will find the Oracle DDOS team to be inline with their interests. Candidates must be highly collaborative, creative, analytical, and have the ability to thrive in fast-paced environments.

Responsibilities

The Roles & Responsibilities of this job will include:

  • Developing, programing, and automating tasks

  • DDOS supplier RFP’s

  • DDOS Engineering design improvements and architecture

  • Automation and deployment efficiencies

  • DDOS Region builds and game-days

  • Compliance and security assessments

  • Detection and monitoring design and improvements

  • Flowspec automation and efficiency distribution methods

  • Work with development teams to build tooling

  • Network Design Reviews

  • Operational escalations for DDOS attacks

  • Escalation support for DDOS for disconnected regions

  • Org roadmap contributions

  • External DDOS design and improvements

Skills & Aptitude:

The ideal candidate shall be one who has:

  • Programing and Development languages and structure

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capability.

  • The skill to take on a variety of tasks and pay attention to detail;

  • Technology-agnostic approach to engineering.

  • Solid technical writing skills.

  • Possess the ability to quickly grasp concepts of new technology and communicate them clearly and in a concise manner to other stakeholders and teams in a collaborative constructive way.

  • A good understanding of architectural principles in order to correctly identify optimal solutions.

  • A strong technical writing capability with a penchant for teaching.

  • Demonstrate technical prowess as subject matter expert to large-scale strategic initiatives, programs, and projects, with customers, peers, and leadership required.

  • A solid foundation with the resilient design of DDOS mitigation networks

  • Capable of highlighting key problem areas in a project or design in order to focus priorities

  • Team player with a constructive perspective committed to the success of the group

  • Great time management and prioritization skills

  • Highly autonomous

  • possesses strong written and verbal communication skills

  • A successful track record of troubleshooting complex network problems and delivering innovative solutions.

  • The desire and ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment are essential.

Range and benefit information provided in this posting are specific to the stated locations only

Canada: Hiring Range from $66,700 to $145,000 CAD per annum

Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect Oracle’s differing products, industries and lines of business.

Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.

This job requires proficiency in the English language. Oracle is a global company with operations in dozens of countries around the world and our teams, including the team this position is part of, are comprised of individuals located in various jurisdictions. As is required of employees in all jobs at Oracle in North America, candidates for this position are required to understand, and communicate, in English so that in the course of performing their work, they can interact with teammates in other locations who are not fluent in the French language.
