Summary:

The Vice President Aura will lead the ELC Atelier, Supply Network & Project Falcon, ensuring the NPL we establish in fragrances is meeting company objectives; accountable for developing the joint value creation programs with the Fragrance Houses as well as:

· Establish the connection with innovation ecosystem in Europe to drive our innovation agenda and in partnership with the SVP PD provide leadership in defining product innovation strategy and new product opportunities for the category.

· Lead the talent and development programs for the Paris hub (R&D, PD & Value Chain functions)

· Key liaison with the Fragrance Houses, coordinating the joint value creation programs.

· Work with global R&D and PD teams on key innovation landing zones

· Lead the administrative and functioning duties of the ELC Atelier (site leader)

Principal Accountabilities:

The successful leader in this role will help build brand equity, growth and profitability for leading prestige fragrance.

· Lead and develop the COE (PD team, Packaging team and R&D team) based in Paris to deliver world class perfume.

· Create, manage, and drive a broad portfolio of projects running into different time frames and differing degrees of technical complexity, with the intent of delivering irresistible breakthrough and sustainable perfume experiences that allow us to win both in the short and long term. These are broadly clustered into 3 streams

o Downstream innovation programs enabling the design of brand -inspired consumer orientated luxury fragrances. In partnership with the VP Technical perfumier and the Paris hub, provide perfumery technical support and trouble-shooting our ongoing innovation masterplans. In this role you would lead the effort on driving value in perfumes and explore make vs buy approach working closely with our core fragrance houses

o Leading the group to manage Mid -Stream innovation programs enabling the evaluation, leverage, and fast reapplication of “new-to-ELC“, sustainable perfume technologies that are beyond our core today.

o Long Term Perfume Research Programs and constant review of trends, enabling the identification, creation and qualification of category disrupting technologies that transform the fragrance experience for our consumers.

· Unleash Creativity through cross functional co-creation with global Leadership Team. Review projects with the global Leadership Team to determine which teams will lead NPL. Lead in building innovation capabilities and driving the cultural transformation needed to meet our vision of the Leaders in Luxury Fragrances globally.

· Utilize trends and data to create the best products and experiences for the consumer.

· Establish and leverage generative AI as a core discipline that drives innovation acceleration in the fragrance category.

Qualifications

· Minimum 15 years of work-related experience in fragrance industry, focus on lifestyle / fashion / beauty brands preferred

· Knowledge of fragrance houses and the end-to-end aspects of fragrances: innovation, development, including packaging and design experience

· Data and trends driven leader with the ability to drive and empower high performing teams to innovate and collaborate on multi-channel/platform creative

· Excellent collaboration and stakeholder alignment ability

· Possess high level project management skill set while working cross-functionally with internal teams to meet timelines, including Supply Chain, Marketing, Creative Operations, GSR, Packaging, Claims, R&D, and Legal

· Visionary and strategic leader with ability to challenge conventionality while in alignment with commercial goals

· Commitment to quality and efficiency, has a growth mindset and continually adjusting to new ways of working

· Business savvy with financial fluency, entrepreneurial, resourceful, and technically skilled

· Culturally astute with exceptional verbal and visual communication skills in both French and English

· Practiced vendor relations and negotiation skills

· Ability to inspire, mentor, and manage teams, and strong desire to continually drive innovation, elevate work product, and improve process

Success factors

The successful candidate will be able to take the global strategy and translate to the COE strategy for the Atelier group:

· Work collaboratively and synergistically with brand PD leads and Global Fragrance R&D to drive proactive fragrance innovation supporting platforms across the enterprise.

· Navigate a matrix organization, successfully lead projects involving a variety of stakeholders, both internally across R&D, and externally with fragrance houses and other suppliers, while adhering to NPL timelines.

· Leading all prospective platform development - create a bank of assets which can be utilized across the brand portfolio, make timely decisions to lead the COE Atelier team.

  • Accelerate and leverage upstream perfumery programs with Fragrance houses, leading to superior products, experiences and provenance stories.
