S&P Global Director - Cloud FinOps - Ariba in Virtual, Georgia

The Team: The Director, Cloud FinOps to be a key player in the Infrastructure Engineering team in our S&P Dow Jones Indices division to manage cloud expenditure and manage license/subscriptions/warranty extensions for hardware and software components. This role requires a seasoned FinOps personnel experienced with Cloud infrastructure and who works effectively, both independently as well as collaboratively, in a team environment.

Responsibilities and Impact:

  • Lead negotiations and manage vendor contract renewals, ensuring favorable terms and cost-effectiveness.

  • Handle purchase requests, purchase orders, and Master Services Agreements (MSAs) with precision and efficiency.

  • Track and manage invoice approvals to maintain financial clarity and control.

  • Develop accurate budget estimates aligned with organizational goals and financial forecasts.

  • Monitor vendor spend, software licenses, and overall expenditure to optimize financial resources.

  • Maintain a comprehensive inventory of software licenses and track hardware warranty renewals.

  • Conduct cloud consumption analysis to optimize usage and cost efficiency.

  • Manage Cloud Consumption Forecast and Analysis (CFAR) planning to align with business needs and financial targets.

  • Perform Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) analysis for applications and services.

  • Monitor vendor service delivery and ensure adherence to SLAs.

  • Identify and implement process improvements to streamline operations, reduce costs, and enhance financial performance.

  • Develop strategies to optimize resource allocation and maximize financial resources.

  • Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting on a weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.

  • Conduct profitability analysis of products and services to support strategic decision-making.

Compensation/Benefits Information: (This section is only applicable to US candidates)

S&P Global states that the anticipated base salary range for this position is $150,000 to $190,000. Final base salary for this role will be based on the individual’s geographic location, as well as experience level, skill set, training, licenses and certifications.

In addition to base compensation, this role is eligible for an annual incentive plan.

  • Strong communication skills to convey insights effectively.

  • Proficiency in data visualization tools and financial dashboards.

  • Familiarity with Cloudability or similar reporting platforms.

Additional Preferred Qualifications:

  • 12+ years of relevant experience desired.
