IHG Head of IT Product Management - Point of Sale Systems in United Kingdom

Our Global Product & Technology (P&T) organisation, led by Jolie Fleming, Chief Product & Technology Officer, is responsible for distribution, property systems, digital and voice, sales, technology, and information security. Working as one integrated function, we are able to continuously strengthen our brands, our enterprise system and our commercial programmes to deliver stronger returns for our owners.

P&T has roughly 4,000 colleagues around the world, including our Reservation Centre teams.

Your day to day

As Head of IT Product - Point of Sales (POS) Systems you will develop, direct, and maintain IHG’s global POS products and technology platforms. You will be key in leading the strategy to deliver new quality products to support Operations and Customer Experience teams. The Head of IT Product Management will also prioritize and activate the roadmap, ultimately managing the end-to-end product lifecycle from ideation to launch to adoption to optimization in an agile methodology, pivoting as needed in response to stakeholder and customer needs.

In this role, you will partner closely with Global Product & Technology counterparts and external partners while also leading a team of 3 who organize and direct a technical and professional staff as well as large indirect teams who are responsible for creating and implementing the products. This role coordinates among business stakeholders, software developers, technical engineers, designers, data analysts, and other functional subject matter experts to create a comprehensive and holistic roadmap that address both short term and long-term needs. They guide in-depth business reviews, communicate and present across all levels of the organization and support cross-functional product teams.

What we need from you

  • Bachelor’s degree or Masters degree in Hotel Management, Computer Science/MIS/IT, Business Administration or Industrial Engineering or equivalent combination of education and work related experience.

  • 10+ years progressive work-related experience with proficiency in multiple disciplines/technologies/processes related to the position including hotel operating systems, specifically Point of Sale solutions.

  • Demonstrated experience working with multiple cultures and managing hotels/vendors/Owners/guests across different countries within hospitality or related industry.

  • Strong architectural foundation and systems level knowledge with a demonstrated understanding of Point of Sale platforms and other hotel-based/guest-based systems.

  • Experience in engaging cross functional working partnerships in a global organization.

  • Strong influencing/consensus building and analytical skills.

  • Strong leadership, team building, interpersonal and communication skills.
