Corporate Finance Source to Pay Operations Director in United Kingdom

Role: Global Source to Pay Operations Director

Location: United Kingdom

Travel requirements: Monthly travel to our London Office

Work Schedule: Hybrid

We are currently seeking a highly motivated Source to Pay Operations Director for our Global Finance Operation. This role is essential in leading the accounting processes for our operations business, ensuring the accuracy and reliability of financial reporting.

In this role you will join a large team with 5 direct reports. Reporting to our VP of Global Payment Operations, you will play a pivotal role in managing and optimizing the operational and financial functions related to source-to-pay (STP) operations on a global scale. As the leader, you will drive change agendas and process enhancements to elevate efficiency, compliance, and overall value delivery across the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead all aspects of the Source to Pay (STP) Operation, including people management, process optimization, technology integration, controls, compliance, legal, audit oversight, and service delivery across divisions and functions.

  • Manage service delivery, procurement operations, buying and helpdesks, accounts payable (AP), tax operations (1099s), escheatment and banking management.

  • Manage day to day interactions with the servicing business process outsourcer (BPO) including escalation management, SLA adherence, contract and requirements management, training, process improvement and governance.

  • Act as a subject matter expert (SME) on source-to-pay processes, supporting strategic initiatives such as M&A, corporate restructuring, and major system implementations/upgrades.

  • Own and drive the Business Value realization agenda for the Source to Pay discipline, aligning with the Transformation agenda and process maturity objectives set with the VP of Process Transformation.

  • Collaborate and execute strategic transformation plans for Pearson's STP processes, ensuring alignment with business goals and industry best practices.

Your Skills & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Finance, or related field; master’s degree preferred.

  • Extensive experience in global source-to-pay operations, and strategic leadership roles.

  • Proven track record of driving process excellence, value creation, and operational efficiency in a complex global environment.

  • Certification in process improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean Six Sigma) is desirable.

  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively across diverse stakeholder groups.

  • Excellent team leadership, talent development, and stakeholder management skills.

  • Experienced in project leadership and delivery, with a focus on process excellence and continuous improvement.

  • Strong problem-solving capabilities, utilizing structured methodologies and process management tools.
