AIG Underwriter, Casualty in Hong Kong

Incumbent in this position will be responsible for managing the assigned Casualty portfolio including major account underwriting, optimally balancing risk, customer engagement and experience, ensuring the department strategy and action plan is being executed. He/ She will have the ownership of developing and managing business and analytic routines to drive production, meet target effectively and profitably.

Main duties include:

  • Promote AIG Casualty Lines products to International/ local brokers and Agency.

  • Explore, enhance and maintain strong relationships with the producers and distribution partners.

  • Drive product / marketing / service initiatives on both traditional and non-traditional channels like online in order to deliver targets

  • Manage and handle new and renewal submissions / complex accounts as in accordance to underwriting guidelines.

  • Select the risk of insuring a client and determine appropriate premiums and terms and conditions.

  • Conduct trainings, organize sales and marketing events and handle ad hoc projects for Casualty Lines.

  • Support to Senior Managers

  • Adhere to and embed the Company’s risk policies, Statement of Operating Standards and any AIG policies, audits, controls and ERM procedures.

Job Requirements:

  • University / College graduate, CII and/or ANZIIF preferred

  • Knowledge of Casualty products or General Insurance industry is a plus

  • Insurance market presence with Brokers or Agents is a plus

  • Excellent communicator and ability to deliver presentations and product trainings

  • Demonstrated high-level of customer service

  • Good interpersonal skills and collaborative, a team player

  • Good analytical and decision-making mind, knowledge of statistics or data management/interpretation (proficiency in MS Office, PowerBI) is a plus

  • 5 years of relevant or commercial experience; having an equivalent combination of education or related experience
