Vectrus Water Treatment Plant Technician in Marshall Islands

Overview

This position is physically located in the Marshall Islands in support of LOGCAP

Under limited supervision of the Water Treatment Plant Manager, the Water Treatment Plant Technician is responsible for the overseeing, operations, management, distribution, and daily supervision of water production activities on the LOGCAP contract. At the direction of the Water Treatment Plant Manager, performs work on water production related problems and solutions exercising sound judgment in developing methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for obtaining positive results. Plans, organizes, directs, and controls the potable and non-potable water production activities on the program. The Water Treatment Plant Technician has the responsibility to ensure the potable and non-potable related activities are performed on the assigned contract.

Responsibilities

This position description is subject to change at any time as needed to meet the requirements of the program or company.

  • Responsible for overseeing, operations, distribution, and daily supervision of water production activities on the LOGCAP contract.

  • Monitors preventive and corrective maintenance work orders from start to completion.

  • Works on water production related solutions exercising judgment in developing methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for obtaining positive results in concert with and at the direction of the Water Treatment Plant Manager.

  • Plans, organizes, directs, and controls the potable and non-potable water production activities on the program.

  • Assists with the preventive and corrective maintenance program in the water treatment plant.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Minimum Qualifications: Education/Certifications: One-year related experience may be substituted for one year of education if degree is required.

  • Licenses/Certifications: Valid and current US State license/certification in Water Treatment or equal license/certification from the Association of Boards of Certification.

  • Must be able to obtain a Common Access Card (CAC)

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen

  • High school graduate or equivalent. Bachelor’s degree in a related engineering or technical field preferred.

  • Experience:

  • Three (3) years related experience in water treatment.

  • One (1) year leadership experience in the management of personnel.

  • Experience with municipal Water Treatment, as well as some knowledge of Water Distribution systems is a plus.

  • Previous experience in a contingency environment is a plus.

  • Skills:

  • Must be able to read, write and speak fluently.

  • Able and willing to perform other duties as needed, as skills and program allow.

  • Experience with municipal Water Treatment, as well as some knowledge of Water Distribution systems is required.

  • Working Conditions:

  • Must be capable of working in tropical weather conditions with temperatures exceeding 80 degrees Fahrenheit.

  • Includes some industrial production environment conditions as well.

  • Physical Requirements:

  • Medium work. Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 30 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.

  • Employee use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is required for some situations. PPE includes, but is not limited to, head, foot, torso, respiratory, vision, and hearing protective devices.

  • Must comply with all Fire and Safety Regulations and post policies.
