Job Description:
Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Care & Maintenance Superintendent to join our team! In this role you will get to support and oversee care and maintenance activities of the Faro Mine site.
This is a rotational position working at the Faro Mine Site in Faro, YT.
What You'll Be Doing:
Determining, planning of, and prioritizing the Work of Trades and the Heavy equipment group,
Ensuring that the necessary resources are identified, made available and brought to bear in a timely manner.
Managing within the project budget to ensure maximum value to Canada for expenditures.
Monitoring project and Team member performance,
Ensuring that the Construction Management Team receives all the information and support it needs to provide any necessary direction to the various sub-contractors
Assisting Canada and the Faro Mine Remediation Team to fulfill their responsibilities with respect to the Project.
To support the Water management Team with heavy equipment, support, and planned maintenance
To manage general waste materials produced, and the associated disposal areas used by Care and Maintenance operations on site in accordance with the applicable jurisdictional legislation for waste disposal, special waste guidelines and transportation of dangerous goods.
To plan, schedule and perform preventative maintenance and minor repair activities at the Site on the following in a proactive manner to ensure continuous and uninterrupted operations:
Identify in advance all work requiring the use of Contractor-supplied critical equipment and support the Forecasting Lead prepare the monthly estimated C&M equipment operating cost for pre-approval.
Oversees all assets, both Parsons and Canada owned
Resourcing through subcontractors where applicable.
Major repairs refer to repair requirements of a significant nature which are detected during inspections or routine preventative maintenance tasks, and which exceeds the typical annual scope of minor repair activities contained in the Preventative Maintenance and Minor Repairs.
Supplies (e.g., critical equipment spares, spare parts, materials, consumables, other supplies)
Equipment (e.g., Canada-owned, Canada-provided, Contractor-provided, light duty, medium duty and heavy-duty equipment, generators, mobile electrical equipment, and other equipment)
Maintenance on water treatment facilities, critical spare inventory, and planning off season maintenance turnarounds in a timely manner
Site Infrastructure (e.g., dams, electrical systems, pumps, piping, ditches, diversions, etc.)
Real Property (e.g., land, buildings, facilities, Faro Housing)
What Required Skills You'll Bring:
Bachelor's degree in construction, engineering, or related field (or equivalent work experience) and typically 12+ year's relevant experience
Proven experience in managing unionized workforce and labor relations, including the ability to negotiate, resolve disputes, and implement collective agreements.
Valid Class 5 Driver's License
Ability to lift 20kg
Strong leadership and communication skills with a collaborative management style.
In-depth knowledge of environmental legislation, regulations, and safety standards, particularly in the mining or construction industries.
Ability to work within a project budget while ensuring high-quality performance and meeting deadlines.
Experience in planning, scheduling, and executing C&M activities with a strong focus on safety and compliance.
Mine Rescue Certification (or ability to obtain within a reasonable time frame).
Experience working with computer-based maintenance monitoring systems (CMMS) is required , with proficiency in tracking, scheduling, and analyzing maintenance tasks using these systems.
