Oracle Environmental Health & Safety Specialist in Poland

Job Description

Develops, implements, and monitors company environmental safety programs and policies to ensure compliance with regulations.

Review programs/policies to ensure compliance with emerging or changing regulations. Consult with Facilties team to provide support and direction regarding Oracle's compliance. Conduct site audits. Responsible for tracking and reporting injury or illness to appropriate agencies and investigate to determine corrective actions. May provide EHS training to include development of training course.

Job duties are varied and complex utilizing independent judgment. May have project lead role. 5 years related experience. Knowledge of regulations and fire codes. Safety certification desired. Presentation skills. Self starter. Detail oriented. Excel proficient.

Responsibilities:

EHS

· Conduct inspections, investigations, and appraisals, make recommendations and oversee the implementation of changes concerning safe work practices and procedures.

· Maintaining records required by all local regulatory authorities.

· Develop the instructions related to the Health and Safety at work.

· Participation in the inspection carried out by external bodies such as the National Labor Inspectorate, State Sanitary Inspection and Technical Inspection Office, providing required information.

· Develop post-inspection letters/outcome of the audit.

· Interpretation and implementation of the regulations of the State Labor Inspectorate and the State Sanitary Inspection.

· Cooperation with HR in terms of organizing and ensuring an adequate level of training in the field of occupational health and safety and to ensure proper trainings to new employees are delivered (initial training and periodic training). Ensuring all mandatory H&S trainings are made on time, documentation/certificates are completed.

· Develop the Health and Safety training materials.

· Leading in the Occupational Health and Safety Committee meetings.

· Supervision on the measurements of harmful factors at work.

· Conducting post-accident documentation, including records of accident (of accidents at work and accidents in the delegation).

· Conducting and updating occupational risk.

· Cooperating with LLs regarding delivery of fire drills and update of the emergency evacuation plans.

· Cooperation with medical provider regarding organization of first aid trainings.

· Ensuring all materials related to Health and Safety are updated and uploaded at the internal website.

· Follow all relevant official regulations in respect to labor law and H&S local legislation, inform the local management about the mandatory changes and introduce them in a proper legislative way.

· Promoting Environment, Health and Safety culture and initiatives.

· Provide direct support to employees with Environment, Health and Safety concerns or questions.

· Maintain a close relationship with Regional and Global EHS.

· Knowledge of EHS internal procedures and programs and implementation at Poland offices and regional level

Environmental Protection

· First point of contact for all matters related to environmental protection

· Cooperating with external company who supports Oracle to fulfill obligations related to put on the market (pom)

· Managing of environmental fees and reporting to related local authorities

Corporate Initiatives

  • Provides input into the corporate sustainability program via Regional EHS Manager.

  • Acts as liaison to ensure compliance with the corporate business continuity program; provides ongoing training and guidance.

  • Leading Contractor Safety Program

  • Managing Self-Inspection Lists for all offices in Poland in Unifier ( internal tool for data collection)

Purchasing Responsibilities

  • Creates annual EHS budget for Oracle Poland.

  • Reviews/updates budget report and/or biannual budget variance report for consistency and accuracy of payments.

  • Provides justification for unbudgeted EHS projects.

  • Determines project scope, obtains vendor quotes, sets up new suppliers, provides justification to fund purchase orders.

  • Where contracts are required, collaborate with contracts team to review, negotiate and execute.

  • Seeks to identify cost savings or more effective purchasing alternatives.

Reporting Responsibilities

  • Completes regular activities report according to schedule and format to communicate EHS compliance activities (KPIs and TAP), newly identified EHS risks, progress towards EHS goals, and leading and lagging EHS indicators.

  • Responsible for regulatory reporting for country and local agencies as required, such as National Environment Protection Agency.

  • Maintains document management system such that documents can be easily retrieved to demonstrate EHS compliance.

Qualifications:

· Higher education (master degree or engineer degree) in Health and Safety or higher education + postgraduate studies (Health and Safety)

· Familiar with policies, procedures and good practices regarding Environment, Health and Safety

· Minimum 2 years of experience as Health and Safety Specialist in the international organization

· Able to communicate clearly and precisely, in both written and verbal communications (also in English).

· Comfortable with developing and delivering presentations to employees of all levels

· Self-confident hands-on approach and ability to effect change

· Strong customer service skills

· Proficient in Excel, PowerPoint, and Word

· Fluent in English

· Readiness for occasional business trips
