Microsoft Corporation Crisis Manager - APAC in Singapore

We are looking for a seasoned and proactive individual to spearhead our CO+I Crisis Management Initiatives across the APAC region. Our primary objective is to fortify our organization and datacenters to adeptly plan for, respond to, manage, and mitigate critical incidents on a global scale. The selected candidate will work as part of a diverse team that is focused on the ongoing refinement and governance of the CO+I Crisis Management tools, strategies, and protocols, ensuring alignment with Microsoft's enterprise standards, global crisis benchmarks, and best practices. Our goal is instilling a proactive crisis response culture, and safeguarding the integrity of Microsoft’s global datacenters in the face of unexpected challenges.

The ideal candidate will have a robust history of leading and implementing global crisis management and emergency response strategies. They should excel in preparing teams across large enterprises and evaluating the effectiveness of our crisis response through practical drills and real-time incident management. Strategic foresight, coupled with a proven track record of achieving set objectives, is crucial. Engaging and guiding senior executives will be a routine aspect of this role. The successful candidate will not only understand the significance of our current crisis management measures but also craft the future roadmap essential for a rapidly changing company and evolving risk environment. Being an astute program advocate, collaborating with various stakeholders, and influencing without direct authority are key skills for this role. Superior verbal and written communication skills are essential.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and coordinate rapid and effective responses to crisis situations across the region, ensuring minimal disruptions to the business.

  • Work as part of the team on designing and implementing comprehensive crisis management strategies and protocols tailored to organizational needs.

  • Serve as the primary point of contact during crises, ensuring clear and effective communication with stakeholders, includingCO+I employees, leadership, and other organizational partners.

  • Regularly evaluate organizational vulnerabilities and potential threats to proactively address and mitigate risks.

  • Work closely with various stakeholders to ensure a cohesive approach to crisis management.

  • Conduct crisis management training and exercises.

  • Lead post-incident reviews to assess response efficacy, identifying areas for improvement and lessons learned.

  • Continuously monitor global and local events, trends, and news to stay informed about potential threats and beset practices in crisis management.

  • Gather feedback from stakeholders post-crisis and adapt strategies and protocols accordingly.

  • Aid across other resilience pillars as necessary.

Qualifications

The ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to, the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Required/Minimum Qualification

  • 5+ years experience in resilience, crisis/incident management, or business continuity

Additional or Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous work experience within a Fortune-500 company

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Continuity, Emergency Management, Disaster Relief, Disaster Science, Information Management, Mathematics, Computer Science, or related field AND 7+ years experience in reliability, resilience, crisis/incident management, business continuity, risk management, engineering, or compliance work

  • OR equivalent experience.

  • Disaster Recovery Institute International (DRII) certification (e.g., Associate Business Continuity Professional [ABCP], Certified Functional Continuity Professional [CFCP], Certified Business Continuity Professional [CBCP], Master Business Continuity Professional [MBCP]).

  • Business Continuity Institute (BCI) certification (e.g., Certificate of the Business Continuity Institute [CBCI], Associate Member of the Business Continuity Institute [AMBCI], Member of the Business Continuity Institute [MBCI], Fellow of the Business Continuity Institute [FBCI]).
