The Account Representative for the Client Development Group will assist the Account Management team in the field with tasks related to servicing existing accounts, focusing sales efforts, keeping management informed, monitoring competition, and maintaining professional and technical knowledge. The Account Representative for the Client Development Group has no management responsibilities.
This position operates under close supervision.
Salary Range: $40,000-$42,500
What You’ll Be Doing
Service Existing Accounts
Plan and organize daily work schedule to call/visit existing clients
Work in a team environment with Account Management team in the field
Travel occasionally to client sites
Cold call existing customer base and promptly follow up on leads
Submit proposal, contract, and information requests to headquarters office
Perform on-line on-site demonstrations and site visits as needed
Maintain sales records
Focus Sales Efforts
Study existing client base and potential volume and identify additional prospects and opportunities
Submit annual client base/business plan
Close sales and obtain signed contracts
Keep Management Informed
Complete sales opportunities database, communicate travel schedules, daily call reports, weekly work plans, and sales forecasts in a timely manner
Provide market feedback and prompt response to questions and memos from CBORD management
Provide timely feedback regarding division’s Critical Client Initiatives pertaining to clients within territory
Submit expense reports in a timely manner
Monitor Competition
Gather current marketplace information on pricing, products, new products, delivery schedules, merchandising samples, etc.
Maintain Professional and Technical Knowledge
Attend educational workshops and market trade shows
Review professional publications
Establish personal networks
Participate in professional networks
Attend sales meetings
What You’ll Bring to the Table
Ability to act assertively
Ability to be self-motivated
Good organizational, project management, and time management skills
Excellent verbal, presentation, and written communication skills
Excellent interpersonal skills
Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
One year of experience in software sales in the foodservice, healthcare, or related markets
Occasional travel, usually no more than 3-5 days per year
