Purpose of the Job

This position sits within the Regional Business Development Department ("RBDD”) based in Singapore/Hong Kong in the Global Corporate and Investment Banking, Asia Pacific. We are looking for highly motivated personnel with strong leadership to be able to support Head of Business Intelligence & Analytics and deliver the overall GCIB APAC Analytics Operating Model and Strategy. The Analytics Centre of Excellence (CoE) team reports into the Head of RBDD in Singapore.

This is a key role within GCBDA RBDD. Based on where the best suited candidate is identified, the Company is happy to hire for this role in Singapore or Hong Kong

Job Description

  • Translate business strategies into actionable business-oriented data management strategies for the assigned domain

  • Manage new data initiatives and related projects by defining high-level business case; providing requirements and tracking and prioritizing data projects within domain

  • Define standards for data within assigned domain across GCIB APAC

  • Manage access and provisioning by defining access permission plan, monitoring distribution of data from the domain, approving data provisioning to authorized users, supporting data users as a SME (subject matter expert) of data in domain, negotiating Data Service Agreements and ensuring data access and provisioning comply with standards and controls

  • Determine official sources of data in scope

  • Define/Validate business definitions for data elements

  • Review data lineage and technical metadata for data elements

  • Identify need for changes in metadata within domain and implement changes to business definitions

  • Define business rules for data within domain

  • Prioritize issues to remediate and review and approve remediation plans

  • Work with Technology, System teams, Operations to ensure end to end data flow is remediated to drive accurate data

  • Oversee remediation of Data Quality issues

  • Collaborate & influence a wide range of partners / stakeholders from technology, business owners as well as senior management.

  • Support division and department to drive improvement in the process and operational efficiency.

  • Promote MUFG and team culture, and foster team collaboration

Job requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Information Technology or Accounting, or Finance, or equivalent;

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in banking or consultancy with background in Data and reporting;

  • Strong leadership experience

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, ability to influence others

  • Strong project management leadership

  • Ability to translate business requirements into technical requirements

  • Knowledge of the data sources, transformation rules, and uses of the data for the area of stewardship

  • Experience with data management and reconciling data across several sources;

  • Ability to work under strict timelines and strong communication skills;

  • Growth mindset. You seek out learning opportunities for yourself and the team;

  • Willingness to problem-solve and hustle to find solutions (even if unconventional), positivity and possess a “can-do” attitude;

  • Exceptional analytical skills to understand a diverse array of programs and complex end-to-end workflows;
