Job Description

The Business Manager, under direction, manages a full range of business activities for the University Police Department, Parking Services and Physical Security.

This position may pay more than the salary listed above depending on the qualifications and experience of the selected candidate.

Responsibilities:

  • Manages the budget and addresses budget related matters for the University Police Department, Parking Services and Physical Security. Will work on all procurement and contract related matters connected to security, parking services, etc.

  • Processes actions for billing and invoicing, provides oversight for completion of all account reconciliations and manages accounts receivables and revenue generated processes. Manages business files by taking responsibility for overseeing all billing.

  • Runs payroll calculations reports, manages over time and ensures staffing actions are processed timely to align with a balanced budget.

  • Supervises and trains assigned staff.

  • Serves as the first point of contact on all departmental human resources, financial and business-related matters.

  • Develops financial and statistical analysis and summary reports.

  • Prepares, reviews, and analyzes business reports. Manages allocations and reporting. Performs analyses of resource allocations and operating fund requirements.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

    Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree.

  • Five years of related experience in business, accounting or personnel operations.

  • Two years of supervisory experience.

    Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet applications.

  • Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.

  • Verbal and written communication skills.

    Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.

  • Five years of accounting and management experience.

  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA).

  • Knowledge in GAAP, revenue and state funding and ability to reconcile financial discrepancies by collecting and analyzing account information.
