Responsibilities
Database Administration: Manage and administer IBM Db2 Database systems, including installation, configuration, and maintenance.
Performance Tuning: Monitor and optimize database performance, ensuring efficient query execution and response times.
Security: Implement and maintain database security measures, including access control, encryption, and auditing.
Backup and Recovery: Develop and execute backup and recovery strategies to safeguard data and ensure minimal downtime in case of failures.
Database Design: Collaborate with application developers and data architects to design and implement database schemas, tables, and indexes that meet business requirements.
Capacity Planning: Estimate future data growth and plan for database capacity and scalability.
Data Migration: Manage data migration activities, including data import/export and data transformation.
Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve database-related issues, such as performance bottlenecks, data corruption, and connectivity problems.
Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation of database configurations, procedures, and policies.
Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including developers, system administrators, and network engineers, to ensure seamless database integration.
Compliance: Ensure that the database environment complies with industry standards and regulatory requirements (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA).
Patch Management: Keep the database software up to date by applying patches and updates.
Skills Must have
Proven experience as an IBM Db2 Database Administrator or in a similar role.
Proficiency in IBM Db2 Database administration, including installation, configuration, and performance tuning.
Strong SQL and scripting skills for automation and data manipulation.
Knowledge of database security best practices and encryption techniques.
Experience with backup and recovery procedures.
Familiarity with database design and modelling concepts.
Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
Nice to have
Insurance domain exp.
IBM Db2 Database certification (optional but preferred).
