Position Summary

The Director, Security Architecture & Engineering reports directly to the SVP Global IT Security and is responsible for providing a combination of leadership and hands-on technical expertise to design and implement global security tools and frameworks. This high visibility position involves managing a team of security engineers and analysts and integrating existing disparate security teams and tools into a unified organization.

Responsibilities

  • Plans, directs and executes strategic roadmap to standardize security architecture and tools across the global footprint.

  • Selects, designs and configures global security solutions, prioritized based on the threat and vulnerability landscape.

  • Acts as an expert adviser in the development, implementation and maintenance of technical solutions in accordance with information security requirements (regulatory and other), policies and controls. Provides technical security consulting and advisory services to individuals, leaders, project teams, vendors and clients.

  • Troubleshoots and resolves technical issues with deployment and ongoing operation of security tools.

  • Prepares and manages budgets (capex and opex) and supervises team of technical security professionals around the globe.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related area of study or equivalent experience.

  • 10+ years of information technology/security experience.

  • 8+ years of experience in a hands-on security engineering role.

  • 4+ years of experience defining and implementing security architectures designed to protect PII and PHI. Experience with PCI-DSS and/or HIPAA compliant security design is a plus.

  • Extensive experience with a broad range of security technologies including NextGen Firewalls, Data Loss Prevention, Network Access Control, IDS/IPS, Certificate Management, Identity & Access Management, Privileged Identity Management, Multi-Factor Authentication, Mobile Device Management, Endpoint Protection, Anti-malware, etc.

  • Prior experience implementing security solutions for cloud / SaaS / IaaS environments is preferred.

  • Experience researching and evaluating impacts of new technologies.

  • Experience migrating from traditional data center infrastructure, application and data designs to hybrid or fully cloud enabled practices.

  • Experience with global budget management.

  • Ability to work with complex, cross-functional teams in a highly matrixed environment.

  • Ability to motivate, mentor, coach and lead technical teams.

  • Ability to communicate technical topics to both highly technical and non-technical individuals, including executive leadership.

  • Strong verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills with the ability to synthesize the big picture and detailed technical issues rapidly and accurately.

  • Working experience with industry frameworks such as PCI-DSS, HIPAA, ISO 27001, and NIST SP 800-30/Cybersecurity Framework.

  • CISSP, CISM, CCSA, CCSE, CCNA or other security-related certification(s) preferred.
