ModMed (https://www.modmed.com/company/) is hiring a driven Director, Security Engineering who will lead and manage the security engineering and operations functions for ModMed. The role is pivotal in ensuring the protection of our data, systems, and infrastructure. The Director will develop and implement security strategies, manage security technologies, and oversee a team of security professionals. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, proven leadership experience, and a deep understanding of the unique security challenges in cloud engineering.This is an exciting opportunity within a fast-paced Healthcare IT company that is truly Modernizing Medicine!

Your Role:

  • Develop and implement comprehensive security strategies

  • Lead and mentor a team of security engineers and security operations analysts

  • Collaborate with executive leadership to align security initiatives with business objectives

  • Design, deploy, and manage security technologies and architectures

  • Conduct security assessments and penetration testing to identify vulnerabilities

  • Oversee the implementation of technical security controls

  • Collaborate with internal IT, engineering, and cloud operations teams to ensure security is integrated into all aspects of the company’s operations

  • Communicate security risks and recommendations to stakeholders

  • Partner with security GRC team to effectively identify and manage risk

    Skills & Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education and experience

  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in information security or related fields.

  • At least 3 years in a leadership role within security engineering and operations

  • Proficiency in security tools and technologies, specifically within cloud infrastructure

  • Excellent problem-solving skills

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • Strong understanding of security frameworks and standards (e.g., NIST CSF, HITRUST)

  • Enterprise experience in application and cloud security

  • CISSP Certification

  • AWS Certified Security Certification
