U.S. Navy - Agency Wide ELECTRICIAN LEADER (EXPERT) in United States

Summary You will serve as an ELECTRICIAN LEADER (EXPERT) in the DEPARTMENT OF THE NAVY. The incumbent of this position will serve as an Expert Electrician leading a group to ensure work assignments are completed. These positions are located in Shop 99. Applicants will only be considered for positions within their own UIC. For example: If you are within UIC 4523A, you will only be considered for positions within 4523A. Responsibilities You will mentor, train and instruct trade employees in a wide range of repairs on complex equipment. You will repair, test, and install industrial electrical equipment such as transformers, distribution panels, switch gear, air conditioning and refrigeration controls, thermal and magnetic overloads etc. You will perform diagnostic troubleshooting techniques to isolate faults using a wide variety of sophisticated test equipment. You will perform research to continually improve trade processes and keep shot personnel apprised of new technologies and procedures associated with electrical work. You will inspect work, identify deficiencies and implement corrective actions as well as identify cumbersome work practices, target improvement actions and develop product work books to codify efficient or best practices. You will pass instructions received from supervisors and provide overview of tasks to be performed to other workers. You will keep supervisor apprised of potential problems, controversial issues, and recommend corrective actions. You will inspect completed and in process work for quality of workmanship and adhere to requirements, specifications, standards, plans and schedules. You will perform research to continually improve trade processes and keep shop personnel apprised of new technologies, procedures, best practices, and tooling improvements. You will ensure plans, blueprints, materials, and tools are available for specific jobs. You will train and mentor less skilled employees. You will demonstrate proper work methods and discuss viable alternatives, considerations, etc. You will mentor, train and instruct trade employees in a wide range of electrical equipment. You will perform installation, maintenance modification, troubleshooting and repairing a variety of electrical equipment, systems and components.
