This position is located at Bureau of the Fiscal Service, Equal Employment Opportunity Office. As an Equal Employment Specialist, you will be assisting the EEO Officer and the Disability Employment Program Manager with the Reasonable Accommodation Program by providing continuing equal employment opportunity services to managers and employees of all levels. Responsibilities The following are the duties of this position at the GS-9. If you are selected at a lower grade level, you will have the opportunity to learn to perform all these duties, and will receive training to help you grow in this position. Serve as the initial contact in the EEO Office for Reasonable Accommodation Requests from Fiscal Service employees located in the Kansas City, Philadelphia, Hyattsville, MD, and Washington DC locations. Assist with determining plans to address barriers in the workplace impacting individuals with disabilities. Develop brief statistical reports reflecting the status of disabled employees in the workforce. Analyze employment practices to determine barriers impacting individuals with disabilities. Requirements Conditions of Employment A one-year probationary period may be required. Must successfully complete a background investigation. Periodic reinvestigation is required no later than five years after selection and at least every succeeding five years. Public Trust - Background Investigation will be required. Obtain and use a Government-issued charge card for business-related travel. This position requires that the successful candidate undergo personnel vetting, which includes a background investigation and enrollment upon onboarding into "Continuous Vetting." Enrollment in Continuous Vetting will result in automated record checks being conducted throughout one's employment with Treasury. The successful candidate will also be enrolled into FBI's Rap Back service, which will allow Treasury to receive notification from the FBI of criminal matters (e.g., arrests, charges, convictions) involving enrolled individuals in near real-time. Qualifications You must meet the following requirements within 30 days of the closing date of this announcement. The experience may have been gained in either the public, private sector or volunteer service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis. To ensure full credit for your work experience, please indicate dates of employment by month/day/year, and indicate number of hours worked per week on your résumé. Specialized Experience for the GS-09, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-9 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position is defined as the following: -- Experience serving as the initial contact in the EEO Office for Reasonable Accommodation Requests; AND -- Experience assisting the Senior Specialists develop, and issue guidance on preparation of Reasonable Accommodations. OR You may qualify with a Master's or equivalent graduate degree; OR Two (2) full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree, if related; OR LL.B. or J.D., if related; OR You may qualify by a combination of experience and education. To combine education and experience, the total percentage of experience at the required grade level compared to the requirement, as well as the percentage of completed education compared to the requirement must equal at least 100 percent. Only graduate level education in excess of the first 18 semester hours (27 quarter hours) may be combined to be considered for qualifying education. In addition to the above requirements, you must meet the following time-in-grade requirement, if applicable: For the GS-9, you must have been at the GS-7 level for 52 weeks.
