Position Summary
The Director of Finance is a strategic leader who oversees the financial operations and ensures the financial integrity of the organization. This role is pivotal in driving the annual budget process, analyzing financial performance, and leading financial strategic initiatives. The Director works closely with upper management and department heads to foster inter-departmental collaboration, promote synergetic growth, and enhance financial reporting and operations. This position requires a proactive approach to financial management, embracing innovative solutions and tools to improve processes and achieve the organization’s financial goals.
Key Duties
Financial Analysis and Reporting: Lead the analysis of financial performance through various metrics and KPIs, developing detailed monthly financial reports accessible in real-time to all department heads and leadership, thereby increasing transparency and fostering a culture of accountability.
Budget Management: Spearhead the annual budgeting process, collaborating with leadership and department heads to set realistic financial targets, and implementing a new cloud-based budget solution to adapt to dynamic organizational needs.
Operational and Strategic Financial Oversight: Provide in-depth analysis and strategic recommendations for all business lines to enable streamlined operations, cost-saving initiatives, and increased productivity. Work closely with directors to apply financial insights effectively.
Leadership and Development: Manage and mentor key financial personnel, including a Senior Financial Accountant and Home and Community Based Finance Manager, enhancing professional development and ensuring accuracy in financial reporting and operations.
System Enhancements and Process Improvement: Drive the adoption of new financial tools and systems, including ERP systems and a new Chart of Accounts, to support the organization’s scalability and success. Lead initiatives to improve financial processes across billing, payroll, and other accounting areas.
Job Requirements
Bachelors Degree
7+ years experience
Expert level financial analysis
ERP systems experience / Oracle Netsuite Preferred
Proficient in Microsoft Office
