The Sales Development Specialist is a key member of the Small Commercial Inside Sales Team who will have direct accountability for enabling our business growth throughout the sales acquisition process. The ideal candidate is highly organized, will be a strong communicator who can quickly build rapport with customers and has a strong desire to win in the marketplace. This role is an entry point into our Sales and Underwriting organization with opportunity to develop skills needed for growth into a Sales or Underwriting career if desired.

The Inside Sales Team supports business owners countrywide so candidate must be available to work 10:30 AM-7:00 PM EST.

Responsibilities:

· Partners with the Inside Sales Underwriting Team in the sales acquisition process. Builds leads, accepts inbound calls, assigns leads, and schedules call-backs to small business owners. No cold calling is performed.

· Puts the customer first by building strong relationships, being responsive to the customer - including through online chat, follows up on open quotes, closes the sale and communicates outcomes to the Insides Sales Underwriting Team.

· Positions and sells The Hartford's value proposition including its long standing history, payroll deduct billing model and additional coverage’s.

· Supports a high performing sales culture. Acts with confidence, operates nimbly, prioritizes and manages their daily work activities.

Qualifications:

· Call center experience preferred

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills

· Competitive nature and strong desire to win

· Outstanding organization, desk management, time management and computer skills

· Comfort and confidence in balancing inbound sales calls from a queue, along with outbound and email communications to close sales

· A bachelor's degree is preferred but will consider relevant work experience as a substitute

· Bilingual (Spanish Speaking) a plus

This role will have a Hybrid work arrangement, with the expectation of working in an office (Hartford, CT; Clinton, NY; Charlotte, NC; San Antonio, TX; Scottsdale, AZ) three days a week (Tuesday through Thursday).

We will also consider remote workers in the following mountain and pacific time zone states: CA, ID, UT, MT, CO, NV, NM, OR, WA, WY.

Compensation

The listed annualized base pay range is primarily based on analysis of similar positions in the external market. Actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range based on factors including but not limited to performance, proficiency and demonstration of competencies required for the role. The base pay is just one component of The Hartford’s total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term or annual bonuses, long-term incentives, and on-the-spot recognition. The annualized base pay range for this role is:

$44,880 - $67,320
