What we're looking for:
You are a hands-on manager for a team of SREs applying modern DevOps & SRE techniques operating a large-scale distributed SaaS application across multiple clouds. You are well versed in a large number of technologies and welcome new tools and techniques. You are able to work across multiple product/service teams to help build a unified Operations organization. You are always looking for patterns and ways to increase efficiency, eliminate downtime, optimize costs, and maintain performance at scale. You can manage and mentor team of SREs on day-to-day duties as well as work with leadership teams on strategic initiatives. You work to provide hands-on technical expertise to design, deploy, secure and optimize Cloud services. You are able to drive improvements in technical architecture and standards/process to deliver the best customer experience.
Citrix is rapidly developing and expanding its portfolio of large-scale cloud applications across all product lines, including app/desktop virtualization, networking, and content collaboration. These applications must deliver enterprise-grade performance, reliability, and integration while leveraging consumer internet economies of scale in multiple clouds (and in hybrid scenarios that reach behind the enterprise firewall). This requires excellent architecture and dev-ops process in software development, operations, and site reliability engineering.
As an SRE manager, you will be responsible for one or more product SRE teams and the general engineering efforts for scalability, availability, security, and cost for that team. Your responsibilities will include setting team priorities and goals as well as engaging with product development teams to understand and support their needs and initiatives. Every cloud engineer is responsible for the availability, scalability, security, performance, cost, and compliance requirements of Citrix cloud services.
Work across Engineering and Support teams to ensure Citrix meets its goals for service reliability, availability, and efficiency.
Drive architectural/technical service improvements
Hands-on engineering manager who likes to code
Ensure alignment and execution across Development, Support, and Cloud Operations
Understands basic management approaches such as work scheduling, prioritizing, coaching and process execution
Requires advanced knowledge of job area obtained through advanced education combined with experience
Requires a University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 3-5 years prior relevant experience
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
SAFe certifications or experience
Software Engineering background with a passion for DevOps
Enjoy pushing scalability to the limit with high throughput services
Enjoy working with a large variety of services and technologies
Demonstrate a solid understanding of development, debugging, administration and automation frameworks: C#/.NET, PowerShell, Python, Ansible, etc.
Experience with logging platforms and application performance metrics: DataDog, NewRelic, Splunk, ELK, App Insights Analytics, etc.
Experience with source control and continuous integration tools: Git/Stash, BitBucket, Jenkins, etc.
Proficient in one or more cloud providers, i.e. AWS, Azure, GCP
Experience with container technologies: Kubernetes, Docker
Experience with both Windows and Linux Operating Systems
