Uber Manager, Tax Quant in United States
About the Role
Tax Quant works with the broader Tax Team as well as non-Tax orgs (Treasury, Accounting, Legal) to quantify and model the near and long range tax impact of transactions and Tax planning initiatives to optimize cash tax and ETR. This role will allow a motivated Tax Professional to work with a diverse team on complex and interesting projects that touch on all areas of Tax (Fed, State, US international, Transfer Pricing, Local Tax implications).
What You'll Do:
Work on cross-functional teams modeling cash tax, income tax expense over a 1-10 year horizon
Scenario planning for US Federal income tax (including US international), SALT
Liaise with Tax Counsel, Federal Team, State Team, Compliance Team, Provision Team on tax impact of significant transactions
Work with service providers on modeling tools/planning initiatives
Communicate executive level summary to management in Meetings as well as Slack updates
Basic Qualifications:
BA/BS Degree
5+ years in Big 4 and/or industry
Experience with modeling/forecasting
Experience with US Federal income tax (C Corporation)
Preferred Qualifications:
CPA
Experience with modeling/forecasting tax expense
Experience with US International (GILTI, Sub F, 250, FTC)
Strong in Tax Provision Concepts (current/deferred expense, VA analysis, FIN48)
Proficient with Excel (Index/Match, Pivot Tables)
Basic Transfer Pricing knowledge
Basic state income tax knowledge
Automation tools (Alteryx, Power Query)
Familiarity with Tech Companies (IP ownership structures, CSA)
For San Francisco, CA-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$145,000 per year - USD$161,000 per year. For Washington, DC-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$145,000 per year - USD$161,000 per year. For all US locations, you will be eligible to participate in Uber's bonus program, and may be offered an equity award & other types of comp. You will also be eligible for various benefits.
