Primary Function

APCOM's facility in Cookeville, Tennessee, manufactures threated tank fittings “spuds”, pipe nipples, gas burner assemblies, and also stamps a wide variety of parts for the water heater and appliance industries. We are looking for a 1st Shift Material Handler to perform stockhandler functions in accordance with required work instructions.

We Offer

Regularly Scheduled Hours: Monday - Friday; 2:30pm - 11:00pm, OT as needed

Hourly Rate of Pay: $19.25 per hour ($18.25/hour + 1.00/hour shift premium = $19.25/hour)

Sign On Bonus Opportunity: $1500

  • $500 at 90th day of hire

  • $500 at 180th day of hire

  • $500 at 365th day of hire

  • Must not be on a corrective action for attendance to qualify for bonus payments

Responsibilities

  • Will perform Material Handler functions as needed in accordance with required work instructions, such as forklift license and use of Warehouse scanners.

  • Will be required to learn all duties in the Warehouse including receiving product from the trailers, covering the floor by filling issues and pulling finished goods, supporting Service Parts and pulling shipments.

  • Must be able to perform system transactions.

  • Must make accurate and precise transactions.

  • Must be flexible and willing to work in different areas and on different tasks

  • Must be able to safely operate a picker and a forklift

  • Must be able to stand and walk for entire shift, without the need to sit down

  • Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds.

  • Comply with all the safety, quality, and procedure requirements as noted in the applicable Work Instructions.

  • Will use RF scanner for transactions.

  • Will train in picking orders in Warehouse for Made To Order, stock and production, with accuracy being a priority.

  • Other duties may be assigned as needed.

Qualifications

  • Basic computer knowledge, including SAP

  • Must be capable of operating a forklift and stock picker; forklift license a plus

  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds on occasion

  • Must be a self-starter, well organized, able to work both independently and as a team member, possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Education

High School Diploma or GED

Years of Experience

Minimum of 6 months related work experience

Physical Requirements

  • Prolonged periods of sitting/standing and frequent bending and reaching.

  • The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds, and with assistance
