ASM Global National Sales Manager in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

SUMMARYUnder the leadership of the Director of Sales, The Senior National Sales Manager will be responsible for the overall sales effort of the business ex: (18 months or less) and represent PCCA in the Sales Partnership with the Philadelphia Convention and Visitors Bureau in the DC and South market regions.

This role will conduct activities to include but not limited to scheduling events, customer contact, lead generation, pursue qualified sales/calls/leads and other functions and duties as required by the Director of Sales and Marketing that will maximize the bookings of meetings and conventions for the Pennsylvania Convention Center.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform all sales related functions in support of the basic marketing plan, including sending pre-event information to clients and following up on all other procedures associated with the closing of bookings.

  • Meet or exceed sales quota goals established by Director of Sales and Marketing in the Corporate & Life Sciences market segments, as well as National Associations in the defined Chicago and Midwest market regions.

  • Extensive interaction with clients via phone, in-person, and computer; handling pre-event correspondence and meetings until such time as the account can be transitioned to an Event Manager.

  • Assist in developing the basic sales marketing plan to include sales strategies and creative selling approaches to secure meetings and conventions for PCCA.

  • Represent the PCCA at national tradeshows / conventions and all other hospitality related functions, maintain liaison with the Philadelphia Convention Visitors Bureau, local hotels and suppliers by taking an active approach for the PCCA and other industry related facets.

  • Conduct PCCA Site Tours for current and prospective customers.

  • Other duties, attends functions, complete special projects, and other responsibilities as assigned by the Director of Sales and Marketing.

QUALIFICATIONS

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum five (5) years’ experience in a sales or marketing function

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Higher concentrated in Marketing, Business, or related highly preferred.

  • Additional years of experience may serve as college substitute on a basis of two (2) years’ experience for one (1) year of college.

    Knowledge of the Marketing Principles, necessary to promote a facility with the size and scope of the Pennsylvania Convention Center Authority.

    PERFERRED SKILLS
  • CMP Certification is highly desired.

  • Experience with the Ungerboeck Event Management Software.

  • Service sales opposed to product sales.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and organizational ability

  • Strong orientation towards customer service for the meeting, convention and entertainment industry

  • Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays in addition to normal business hours as needed.

  • Must have a professional attitude and appearance.

  • Ability to demonstrate knowledge of Sales and Marketing Principles and procedures.

COMPUTER KNOWLEDGE

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have a working knowledge of event booking and scheduling software (EBMS), spreadsheet software and word processing software and be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) Preferred

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision to handle contracts, other office correspondence, etc.
