Welsh, Carson, Anderson & Stowe (“WCAS”), is a leading private equity firm, founded in 1979 and focused on healthcare and technology. WCAS has partnered with health systems around its private equity investments for decades. In 2018, WCAS formalized a strategic partnership with The Academy. This role works at the intersection of both organizations.
Position Summary:
Reporting to the Operating Partner and Managing Director, Health System Investments, the Project Manager, Portfolio Investments works to identify, diligence, and execute private equity investments for Leading Health Systems and Welsh, Carson, Anderson, & Stowe, a nationally leading private equity firm. The Associate Director/Director specifically will lead the project management of investment thesis development, asset diligence, and deal execution.
Primary Job Duties:
Project Management
Draft long- and short-term project plans
Coordinate and communicate across internal, interdisciplinary teams (including Academy and WCAS teams) to execute next steps against project plans
Track and report on progress against project plans (deadlines and targets)
Anticipate and escalate potential bottle necks and roadblocks
Contact Management
Organize, track, and manage contacts throughout process stages
Assist in scheduling meetings across large, interdisciplinary groups to maximize attendance (investment professionals, health system executives, health system SMEs)
Manage contact lists to recruit executives and SMEs to events
Information Summaries and Reporting
Attend health system executive and subject matter expert meetings (virtually) with Managing Director and help prepare summaries of insights for internal executive audiences
Draft update presentations in PowerPoint for internal executive audiences
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree
4+ years of professional experience in investment banking, consulting, project management, business development, executive search, growth strategy, or investment related roles
Interpersonal Skills & Attributes:
Exceptional project management and organizational skills
Process-oriented with the ability to drive a project to completion
A systems/process-wizard
Able to stay organized across multiple projects at the same time
Able to prioritize and perform a variety of duties in any given day
A structured thinker
Able to structure interview guides, conduct interviews independently, and synthesize insights from health system SME conversations
Excellent written and verbal communication skills (clear and professional)
Self-directed, proactive, and resourceful
Ability to work independently and as a team member
Team approach to working with others
High attention to detail
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
Physical Demands:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required talk and hear. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, and distance vision, and the ability to work with screens or monitors for prolonged periods of time. This position is primarily a sedentary job where the team member will be seated for the majority of the day.

Compensation:
Salary starting at $90,000 per year and up plus benefits.
