Summary

The Data Architecture team will employ the candidate to establish fundamental data capabilities for R&D Excellence, Data Governance, and Master Data Management. They will be directly responsible for developing data and information models for the R&D domain of Daiichi Sankyo globally, and the Commercial domain for the US region. The candidate will also be responsible for constructing and maintaining Master Data Management and Data Governance capabilities to ensure that solutions meet pharmaceutical industry regulations and best practices.

Responsibilities

  • Develop comprehensive data architecture diagrams that depict the data life cycle, data flow, data processes, and data integration in and across systems. Create and maintain accurate documentation of source-to-target mappings for data integration processes. Provide support for enterprise architecture initiatives by aligning data architecture with TOGAF principles.

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand data requirements and translate them into logical and physical data models. Design and develop data models to support data management, data integration, and data analysis activities in the pharmaceutical RD domain.

  • Ensure data models adhere to industry best practices, data governance standards, and regulatory requirements. Optimize data models for performance, scalability, and efficiency. Conduct data modeling training sessions for end-users and provide ongoing support and guidance.

  • Ensures compliance with Data Governance policies by collaborating with relevant teams within the organization. Works with Data Governance bodies to apply/integrate to policies and assists in the development of data migration, integration, and quality projects based on business needs. Provides guidance and support to the development team during implementation and participates in testing and quality assurance to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements such as GxP and CRF21 Part 11.

  • Collaborates with domain experts in privacy, security, and compliance to ensure that the RD and Commercial data platforms uphold privacy, security, and compliance requirements. Serve as a liaison between the business and technical teams by planning, conducting, and capturing the analysis of complex, strategic privacy matters that require it solutions.

Education (from an accredited college or university)

  • Associate degree or higher degree in Computer Science or a related discipline from an accredited college or university required

  • Master's Degree Master's degree in Life Science or Engineering or Information Technology preferred

Experience

  • 4 or More Years 4-7 Years of experience in applications development and business analysis in life sciences, pharma or informatics industry

  • 4 or More Years 4 or More Years of experience with large and complex data management projects

  • 4 or More Years 4 or More Years of experience with data and information modeling using tools such as ERWin, ER/Studio and/or iServer preferred

  • 4 or More Years 4 or More Years of experience with Data Integration Technologies preferred

  • Knowledge of Master Data Hub Architecture, data design and implementation

  • Experience in supporting MDM strategies, with the ability to discuss requirements, priorities, potential solutions

  • Strong in Unix shell/Perl scripting

  • Proven ability to work in a global and highly matrix environment

  • experience with Amazon Web Services (S3, RDS, Red Shift etc.)

  • Familiarity with and understanding of key industry best practices as well as legislative, regulatory and industry artifacts/frameworks such as the following is: preferred

  • Best Practices for computerized systems in regulated “GXP” environment

  • 21 CRF § 11: Electronic Records, Electronic Signatures

Travel

Ability to travel up to 10% Travel to DSD, DSE, DST locations which will include overnight travel. Ability to travel to EU and Japan - sometimes at short notice.
