What we're looking for:

You are a Senior Legal Counsel who will provide legal support in all relevant areas including sales, services, marketing, data protection, litigation.

Position overview:

Working with Senior Legal Counsel based in London and other members of the Citrix Legal Team in EMEA and at Corporate HQ, as well as other functions including Finance, Marketing, Procurement, Real Estate, etc. to support the Sales organization and business leaders being successful with and for our customers. This is a customer-facing role for a business-minded in-house lawyer who enables Sales while protecting Citrix interests and ensuring compliance with relevant policies and local law. This role will report into the Regional General Counsel EMEA.

What you will be doing:

Support the Sales and Services organizations with a focus on the Northern Europe Area (UK, Ireland, Norway, Sweden, Finland, Denmark) in drafting and negotiating agreements, including Cloud Services Agreements, Data Protection Agreements, Professional Services Agreements, Distributor and Partner Agreements.

  • Monitor and advise on changes in local law and regulations that may impact the business.

  • Contribute to and lead a broad variety of legal projects and initiatives in EMEA and on a Global level

  • Continuously improve processes to increase efficiency and effectiveness of the Legal team

  • Share knowledge within the Legal team and the business teams, including providing trainings.

  • Be an integral part of the sales leadership team as their trusted advisor

  • Guide on commercial disputes and litigation, including management of Outside Counsel.

Role responsibilities:

  • Experience in relevant fields of laws (contract, data protection, compliance, competition, etc.)

  • Knowledge and understanding of the IT/technology industry, in particular with regards to Cloud/SaaS

  • Ability to draft and negotiate effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment

  • Able to assess, quantify and communicate legal and business risks and to propose solutions that achieve business objectives.

  • Ability to work independently in a diverse, multi-national environment and to collaborate with customers, all internal departments and all levels of management.

  • Business-minded and customer focussed lawyer, with good judgement in balancing desired business objectives and Citrix interests by taking calculated risks.

  • Collaborative teammate who enjoys working with others to enable joint success

  • Flexibility to seek new tasks and support different territories across EMEA

  • A service-oriented, highly responsive approach to clients as well as a standout colleague who is prepared to undertake wide range of tasks and to help out colleagues as required

Basic requirements:

  • Qualified lawyer with at least 5 years PQE

  • In-house experience preferably in IT/Cloud company.

  • Experience in negotiating and drafting wide range of agreements.

  • Licensed to practice law in a European jurisdiction. Background and experience in a second jurisdiction in addition to applicant's home jurisdiction (e.g. working experience abroad, legal studies or LL.M in a different country) is a definite plus.

  • International experience and full professional proficiency in English and having an additional European language would be advantageous

  • Occasional travel, expected to be less than 10%
