OSV Senior Marketing Specialist – Catechetical Resources in United States

The Senior Marketing Specialist for Catechetical Resources is responsible for the development of strategic marketing and creative marketing solutions for OSV’s Catholic curriculum products for parishes and schools. This position collaborates closely with product development on new and existing product positioning and building national brand awareness.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Develop and implement the marketing strategy, in collaboration with internal subject matter experts, to build national brand awareness and cultivate new markets for OSV curriculum product in parishes and schools, including bilingual curriculum to parishes and schools with Spanish-speaking students and families.

  • Maintain annual marketing plan and product marketing campaigns, and communicate updates weekly to the Catechetical Resources team.

  • Manage the development of high-quality marketing materials in collaboration with Design Manager for Child/Adolescent and Catechetical Resources. Examples might include direct mail, e-mail, advertising, PowerPoint presentations, videos, etc.

  • Develop, implement, and maintain social media in support of curriculum, catechetical, and family/children product.

  • Manage development of annual product catalog.

  • Collaborate with Publishing content editors and product development to create and maintain product descriptions, promotions, implementation resources, and training materials.

  • Write marketing copy in collaboration with Publishing marketing content editors and Curriculum product development to leverage in e-mail drip campaigns.

  • Evaluate the outcomes of marketing strategy and refine the marketing plan as needed in order to meet objectives. Report on marketing efforts regularly, as requested.

  • Manage relationships with curriculum stakeholders across the company and participate in overall marketing strategy-planning and development for OSV Publishing to maximize consistency of messaging and branding.

  • Manage marketing project budgets.

  • Work with event planning staff to prepare brand awareness strategy for national and regional events.

  • Proactively conduct industry research, customer interviews, competitive analyses, and surveys or focus groups to refine messages and to provide guidance for product development.

  • Develop, implement, and maintain plans to support customer retention.

Requirements:

  • A Bachelors’ degree in marketing or a related field of study and a minimum of 5 to 7 years of related experience, with experience managing contractors and vendors, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • An understanding of the Catholic curriculum industry is highly desired.

  • Proven in-depth knowledge of sales and marketing techniques as they apply to a national market.

  • Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills. Experience with public speaking and presenting to decisionmakers is highly desired.

  • Demonstrated ability to anticipate and solve practical problems and resolve issues.

  • Proven ability to work cooperatively across multiple departments to achieve desired outcomes.

  • Demonstrated success in the management of multiple projects.

  • Highly proficient in the use of Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat.

  • Experience managing successful design, layout, and copywriting projects through to completion and implementation.

  • Ability to work collaboratively using electronic workflows.

Working Environment:

  • Incumbent will be working remotely

  • Incumbent will be required to travel as they perform tasks at company events

  • Incumbent will utilize the computer and phone for a large portion of their duties
