Overview/Purpose:

A Senior QA engineer will play a key role in Product Delivery for the Voyager Health platform, which is bespoke development of a Practice Management System within MARS Veterinary Health. Reports directly to the Sr. Director of Product Quality. QA Engineer will be responsible for designing, creating, and maintaining test plans and cases, documenting results, reporting & tracking software defects. Sr. QA Engineer will be responsible for documenting, evaluating, and improving the quality assurance and change management processes in the ongoing project to bring the development and QE efforts into line with industry best practices. In this role, a Sr. QA Engineer will work closely with automation teams and business partners to ensure that functional, UAT, Integrated Testing, and 3d-party Partner Testing are successful.

Responsibilities:

  • Create test cases and test procedures from prototypes, technical specifications, requirements documents, acceptance criteria and use cases to cover the full scope of testing activity for an entire development iteration.

  • Ability to lead, when necessary, MVH & vendor QA working on the existing project

  • Work closely with developers and thus must be conversant in the vocabulary and conceptual framework of object-oriented programming.

  • Developing test scripts using Cucumber/Gherkin BDD syntax.

  • Triage bugs found during both manual and automation testing.

  • Work with and support the Senior Director of Product Quality (SDPQ) for acceptance/exit of System Integration Test phase and entrance to UAT.

  • Ability to work and deliver assignments in a fast-paced environment.

  • Collaborate with various cross-functional team members and stakeholders to unify/reuse test cases for releasing application to prod.

  • Participate in meetings, including status calls and planning sessions representing the QE group and in development sprints, if applicable.

  • Mentor other engineers, when applicable, and provide technical direction and leadership for the team of senior software engineers.

  • Report to the SDPQ on progress and work for enterprise level reporting and on developing/delivering the UAT roadmap status for the verification and validation teams.

  • Strong customer service, communication, coordination, organizational, project management, and leadership skills.

  • Maintain defect documentation and perform defect tracking captured during testing.

  • Provide status progress reports toward testing objectives.

  • comfortable retrieving, inserting, and manipulating data in the databases with extensive and complex schemas.

  • Responsible for reviewing and contributing to test plans and any other test-related documents or other assigned deliverables.

  • Knowledge of API testing and API test automation

  • Other work as requested.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field; or 10+ years of equivalent work experience

  • Preferred: Master's Degree in Computer Science or related field

  • 10 + years of experience in software quality engineering

  • Over 5 years of experience testing ERP/CRM platform applications(s).

  • Thorough knowledge of the SDLC & STLC, Agile/Scrum development methodology

  • Release and change management experience.

  • Ability to work and deliver assignments in the fast-paced environment.

  • Follow an established formal testing methodology and work in the agile development environments.

  • Knowledge of SQL, Cucumber, Python, Gherkin, JavaScript (Typescript), and Selenium WebdriverIO

  • Interpret the BDD Acceptance Criteria and converting them into functional and regression automation scripts.

  • Strong experience testing APIs, web services integration through SOAP or REST.

  • Knowledge of Postman is preferable.

  • Must have good analytical and troubleshooting skills.

  • Detail-oriented, with excellent communication skills, and able to handle multiple projects at the same time.

  • Team-player and capable of working independently with little or no supervision at all.

  • Must be self-sufficient, capable of managing the entire QA effort and effectively partition time between several ongoing assignments/projects in various stages of development.

  • Provide status progress reports toward testing objectives.

  • Experience with Azure DevOps and other similar bug-tracking, project, and test management application

  • Black-box and grey-box testing at the system, functional and feature levels.

  • Knowledge and experience working with large enterprise healthcare applications (e.g., PMS (Practice Management System), ERP and CRM)

  • Preferred: Knowledge of healthcare, insurance, and financial industries, experience working with complex user stories, technical specifications, functional specifications and/or system requirements documents.

Context/Scope:

Will participate in the testing of the Voyager Health platform along with other teams and associates across multiple international business units in North America, Europe, and Asia. This person will help design, create, and maintain test plans and cases, document results, report & track software defects . As well as analyze, report & track software defects in all environments. As a Sr. QA engineer, the candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Program Management Office (PMO), digital Product Managers (PMs) and Product Owners (POs), scrum teams, design, and other functional areas.

Salary: $129,880 - $178,585
