What we're looking for:

You are a focused, motivated and detail-oriented Sr Director, Strategic Business Development. You have a preferred minimum of 10-15 years of prior relevant experience

Position summary:

You will oversee a small team responsible for the strategic development and execution of strategic partnerships in support of sales in designated market segments. You will also maintain an active pipeline of partnerships and navigate active opportunities through business alignment process to help develop viable business cases designed to achieve desired business outcomes and create paths to revenue.

Additionally, you have experience in understanding and summarizing contractual and other operational issues to help drive efficiencies in the process. You will effectively collaborate with Corporate Development to facilitate potential M&A/investment opportunities arising from partnerships. You may also lead workstreams as part of larger strategic initiatives including M&A, investments, or integration

Primary Duties / Responsibilities:

  • Owns and develops tactical and operational plans and goals for a global critical area/product, sub-function, or geography which typically includes oversight for multiple departments or disciplines.

  • Directs activities that have direct impact to the achievement of results for area of responsibility.

  • Recommends and operationalizes strategies that have a direct impact on the achievement of strategies.

  • Work requires a high degree of responsibility for resources, and frequently influences business decisions made by leadership.

  • Recommends and implements new products, processes, policies, standards or operating plans in support of job function strategy.

  • May have budget responsibility for area.

  • Responsible for improving upon entire processes or systems using significant conceptualizing, reasoning and interpretation skills.

  • Problems and issues faced are numerous and undefined, where information is typically difficult to obtain.

  • Conducts extensive investigation to understand the root cause of problems.

  • Problems are frequently complex. Problems typically involve consideration of a multiple sites, geographies, products or customers.

  • Problems are typically solved through drawing from prior experience and analysis of issues.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Communicates with parties within and outside of own job function, and typically has responsibilities for communicating with parties external to the organization, which may include customers or vendors.

  • Requires ability to communicate with executive leadership regarding matters of significant importance to the organization.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Requires advanced management and leadership knowledge to lead cross-department project teams or manage across multiple functions.

  • Has mastery within a specific technical or broad expertise across multiple related disciplines.

  • Significant negotiation and deal structuring experience required along with understanding of legal contracts.

  • Bachelor’s Degree; MBA or other Master’s Degree preferred; Minimum 10-15 years prior relevant experience in similar functional role.
