The Senior Manager of Strategic Communications leads L3Harris’ integrated & executive communications efforts at Corporate Headquarters. The selected candidate has responsibility for identifying and aligning the company’s business priorities and communications priorities, collaborating across functions and segments to drive & track strategic campaign development and execution. They also develop and track thought leadership opportunities for key executives, including the CEO, and develop key executive communications, such as op-eds, presentations and other related materials, aligning messaging and increasing share of voice in key topic areas. The selected candidate should be a strong communications leader, exquisite writer and thoughtful researcher who is flexible to emerging requirements and demands and can swiftly address urgent needs. As a key team member, they must look broadly across the enterprise, closing gaps and preventing silos to maximize communications impact and efficiency; they also drive integrated reporting and analysis.
The role reports to the Senior Director of External Communications.
Essential Functions:
Identify and align communications priorities with business priorities across key functions and segments
Develop, execute and track “Top 10” integrated communications campaigns in partnership with key functions and segments
Develop, execute and track thought leadership strategy for key executives (ex: CEO)
Develop and report integrated communications metrics (ex: “Top 10” campaigns, quarterly function reporting)
Develop CEO op-eds, talking points and/or correspondence with key audiences
Develop prep materials for CEO-level engagements with media, customers and/or with key policymakers, including congressional and executive branch engagements and industry association participation
Lead enterprise-wide integrated campaigns (ex: Earnings, National Engineers Week)
Lead M&A integrated communications campaigns, change management efforts or special communications initiatives
Support technology focus area communications groups/working groups (ex: JADC2, Shield Capital)
Manage a small team of strategic communicators, implementing best-in-class practices and procedures for use across enterprise
Carry out additional activities as assigned by management
Qualifications:
Bachelor's with 12 years prior experience in public relations or related field, Graduate Degree with 10 years prior experience in public relations or related field - In lieu of a degree, minimum of 16 years of prior related experience in public relations or related field
8 years of experience in Communications, Public Relations, Government Relations or related field
3 years of supervisory and / or major project / team leadership experience
Preferred Additional Skills:
Experience in defense, space, aerospace or other high-tech cultures
Experience leading and influencing cross-functional/cross-divisional teams
Exemplary organizational skills with a proven ability to successfully plan, coordinate and track projects from start up to close out
Ability to develop cooperative relationships with all levels of management & staff
Strong written and verbal communications skills; ability to share vision, positioning and messaging information with various stakeholders
Experience with creating and briefing executive-level presentations
Ability to effectively prioritize and make good judgment decisions in a highly charged environment
Track record of exceeding customer expectations and providing innovative and timely solutions
An effective team member and leader with a positive approach who can think outside the box and problem solve in real time
Proficient in AP style

In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in Colorado and New York State is $101,000 - $187,000. For California and New York City, the salary range for this role is $115,500 - $214,500. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location. L3Harris also offers a variety of benefits, including health and disability insurance, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, EAP, education assistance, parental leave, paid time off, and company-paid holidays. The specific programs and options available to an employee may vary depending on date of hire, schedule type, and the applicability of collective bargaining agreements.
