What we're looking for:

You’ve played product engineering roles, and have experience translating complex requirements into scalable, extensible implementations.

You are familiar with standard software engineering methodology, e.g. unit testing, code reviews, design documentation. You know when it’s okay to take on technical debt, and you eventually pay it down. You ground your decisions with data and reasoning and can adapt to new information to make informed choices. You enjoy working in a collaborative environment and interact effectively with others. You bring thoughtful perspectives, empathy, creativity, and a positive attitude to solve problems at scale. You’re willing to be coached and to coach others.

Position Overview

The Senior Software Engineer is responsible for delivering new features and solving medium to high complexity issues on our cloud-based data and machine learning product. Citrix Analytics for Security enables customers to take a proactive approach to security by integrating with our entire Citrix portfolio to uniquely protect each user, the workspace, and the network, by innovative use of user and entity behavior data insights, security policies, machine learning and artificial intelligence.

Role Responsibilities

  • Interface with PM, Product Owner, Architect to clarify objectives and key results for requirements

  • Design, code and deploy software at short cadence

  • Maintain quality and ensure responsiveness of applications

  • Unit-test code for robustness, including edge cases, usability, and general reliability

  • Prepare test plan, test cases and automate them.

  • Work on bug fixing, complex customer escalations and improving application performance.

  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional team to define, design, and ship new features

  • Focus on improving code quality through best practices and stringent reviews

  • Continuously discover, evaluate, and implement new technologies to maximize development efficiency.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science

  • 4-7 years of development experience in Java

  • Hands on experience building microservices in Springboot

  • Experience in development of server-side logic, RESTful API’s

  • Integrate with existing databases, REST and SOAP services as the underlying data source

  • Knowledge/experience with relational databases, NoSQL databases

  • Solid fundamentals in Data structures and Algorithms.

  • Excellent debugging and problem solving capability

  • Implementing automated unit tests and expertise with unit test frameworks like Junit, Jest, Mocha, Chai Kafka

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with GraphQL and/or Apollo

  • Experience working with Graph databases

  • Experience with event-based and message-driven distributed system like Kafka or Service Bus

  • Familiarity with a cloud provider (AWS/Azure/Google)

  • Working knowledge of microservices using Docker and Kubernetes

  • Experience with front-end technologies, such as HTML5, and CSS
