Job Description

The Student Hourly Assistant, under general supervision, will be responsible for assisting faculty/research staff in the completion of research projects within the different colleges/research centers, disciplines, and the Division of Research and Innovation (R&I).

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct research and provide support for the compilation of research project reports

  • Perform other duties as deemed necessary by the supervisor (faculty/research staff)

  • Assist with electronic or mail submissions of research articles and grant proposal development

  • Assist with the development of manuscripts for research journals publications

  • Prepare presentation for conferences and workshops

  • Attend local, regional, and national research presentations

  • Other duties as assigned

    Required Education and Experience:

  • Presently enrolled at Prairie View A&M University for at least nine (9) graduate or six (6) undergraduate semester credit hours during the term in which the work is to be done.

  • Must be in good academic standing (SAP) as demonstrated through your college; minimum 2.0 GPA

  • No prior experience necessary

  • For work eligibility during a summer term, a student must be enrolled for at least six (6) graduate or undergraduate semester credit hours during the period in which the work is to be done or preregistered at least six (6) undergraduate or nine (9) graduate semester hours for the fall term.
