Class Summary
Job Description
The Trades Technician II will perform installations, repairs, and general Carpentry maintenance; prepare materials and cost estimates for various carpentry projects; and maintain supplies and equipment. The Trades Technician II may also serve as a lead to staff to include assigning and monitoring work and providing direction.
Essential Duties
Assist the Carpentry Foreman on large projects.
Assist in preventative maintenance on a variety of Carpentry needs.
Perform installations, repairs, and general maintenance in functional areas
Respond to field and emergency calls to troubleshoot damage, and to repair and replace damaged equipment.
Prepare materials and cost estimates for various projects within functional areas
Perform preventative maintenance in functional areas
Maintain levels of supplies and equipment
Assist with establishing safe construction sites
Serving as a lead to staff to include assigning and monitoring work and providing direction
This class is responsible for performing specialized trades duties and assisting in the training of new employees.
This job is a safety sensitive position that will require a pre-employment drug test and subsequent random drug and alcohol testing in accordance with Gwinnett County Drug and Alcohol-Free Workplace.
The Grade for this position is B213.
Minimum Qualifications:
High School Diploma, or G.E.D.
Two years of Carpentry Trades experience;
Valid driver's license
or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above
