What youll do

"In the role of Senior WAN Engineer in the hyperscaler platform such as Microsoft Azure, you can expect an engaging position. You will have the opportunity to shape, implement, and maintain the network architecture within Azure, playing a key role in ensuring optimal connectivity between the corporate network and cloud resources. Your responsibilities include integrating ExpressRoute connections, continuously optimizing network performance, and implementing advanced security measures to protect the Azure infrastructure according to the highest standards. You will actively participate in resolving network issues and leverage automation tools to create repeatable processes, enhancing the efficiency of your operations. This position not only provides insights into the latest Azure technologies but also allows you to be part of a dynamic team shaping the future of cloud network infrastructure.

• As a Senior WAN Engineer, you design, implement, and operate our reliable and adaptable network infrastructure. Your responsibility is to ensure that it not only meets current requirements but is also well-equipped for future developments

• Your focus is on optimizing the network infrastructure to ensure seamless and efficient communication between various locations as well as our customers

• You ensure the reliability and performance of our network, identifying and resolving network issues and outages

• You develop and implement network policies, procedures, and best practices, and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations

• As a Senior WAN Engineer, you collaborate closely with other teams to ensure the seamless integration of WAN solutions with other enterprise systems

• You meticulously monitor network traffic, continuously optimize the network, and plan capacity. Leveraging advanced monitoring tools, you identify bottlenecks in real-time and proactively enhance performance. Your expertise lies in fine analysis for efficient data transmission

• You are responsible for the development and maintenance of network documentation and topology diagrams. You regularly review and update this documentation in response to changes in the network infrtastructure

What you bring

• 5 years of experience in network engineering, preferably in a WAN environment

• Extensive experience with network operating systems from various vendors such as Junos-Evo, NXOS, IOS-XR, and network protocols including TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, IS-IS, MPLS, VLANs, VxLAN/EVPN, and VRF

• Great communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams

• The ability to work under pressure, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple projects simultaneously

• Relevant certifications such as CCNP, JNCIP are a plus

• Ability to design and document innovative network architectures to meet requirements

• Willingness to participate in rotating 24x7 on-call duty

• FluentGerman and English language skills
