Coherent Corp. Production Planner - EPI/Device in Warren, New Jersey

Primary Duties & Responsibilities
Works closely with Division Production Planner to ensure production schedules are met across all epi manufacturing sites
Operations are monitored to assure that process and product quality are maintained, that yields and efficiencies are maximized, that scrap and waste are minimized and that safe practices are employed.
Production activities are managed to assure that productivity is high and that lead-times and backlogs are maintained at acceptable level.
Manages product flow to fulfill customer orders and business needs.
Inventories are monitored and maintained at appropriate level
A "focus on the customer" mentality is maintained.
Corrective actions are maintained and appropriately acted on.
Capacity and Capability of equipment and labor is understood and documented for New Products and processes.
Schedules production to include R&D and Process Improvement activities.
Monitor WIP and Finished Goods Inventory
Research and define reasons for excess inventory
Flag items with reasons communicate and support solutions
Attend daily, weekly meetings with appropriate personnel
Problems are expedited and issues are communicated as required
Use Process Value Chain methods for process improvements
Maintains a positive attitude and is cooperative in working with others
Adapts readily to changes in work caused by new requirements and/or situations.

Education & Experience
Bachelor's in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Operations Management, or direct work related experience
2-4 years in manufacturing (high technology manufacturing preferred)
Experience in performing time studies (both labor and equipment)
Preferable trained in lean manufacturing techniques
Experience with problem analysis and resolution
Demonstrated ability to achieve results independently or working with others
Ability to recommend and implement improvements
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Experience with networked PC based computer system (MS Office, spreadsheets, access, graphics, Email, MRP systems, and accounting software)
Must have experience using SAP or equivalent ERP systems

Due to ITAR compliance, this position requires candidates to be a U.S. Citizen, Permanent Resident Alien, or Protected Individual per 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)

Office Environment, some Warehouse work

Physical Requirements

Able to lift at least 20 lbs.

Safety Responsibilities

All employees are required to attend scheduled training, follow the site EHS procedures and II-VI Corporate EHS standards. This includes the use of proper protective equipment (PPE) as required by the job responsibilities.

Managers will ensure that all safety and environmental procedures are followed consistently. They will ensure that risk assessments are performed, proper training, work instructions, required PPE is available, and will monitor compliance. .
