Responsibilities

The Quality Assurance Manager drives the continuous improvement process for the facility. The main objectives are to improve the plant’s processes to ensure that cost/waste is driven from the system, and to ensure that our products are competitive in the marketplace in order to support business growth. This involves the development, implementation and preservation of the Quality Management System, identification of improvement opportunities and implementation of their solutions, and facilitating the Continuous Improvement process as well as to manage the ISO system.

RESPONSIBILITIES: The primary duties and responsibilities of the Q.A. Manager consist of, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Planning, coordinating, and direct quality control program to ensure the continuous production of products consistent with established standards.

  • Developing and analyzing statistical data and product specifications to determine present standards and establish proposed quality and reliability expectancy of the finished product.

  • Using data from various reports to analyze quality problems and create corrective action plans that improve product quality.

  • Continuously monitoring quality problems and continuously coordinates the corrective action plans to eliminate the problems.

  • Performing audits of the manufacturing facility and product safety system to insure compliance with AIB and any other state and federal guidelines.

  • Using statistical methods for analysis and provide plans for cost reduction and productivity improvement.

  • Working directly with customers on quality issues, answering customer complaints and developing corrective action plans to prevent reoccurrence.

  • Training and leading employees engaged in inspection and testing activities to ensure continuous control over materials, facilities and products.

  • Investigating and adjusting customer complaints.

  • Raw material quality assurance to include liaison with vendors for resolution of quality issues.

  • Certification of all gauges and maintenance of certification program.

  • Compliance and Management of Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point Program (H.A.C.C.P.) and its functions plant-wide.

  • Compliance and Management of Good Manufacturing Practices (G.M.P) and its functions plant-wide.

  • Compliance and Management of ISO & SQF Certification program and its functions plant-wide.

  • Ensuring shipment of Sample Quality Products to Customer as requested.

  • Plant-wide material specifications and updating as required.

Qualifications

EDUCATION, SKILL & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Management or related field, and 3+ years of successful experience in an industrial manufacturing environment or a combination of education and experience.

  • 3-5 years’ successful supervisory experience.

  • Write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.

  • Understand spreadsheets, charts and technical manuals; Good phone skills required.

  • Define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

  • Regularly required to stand, sit and walk for long periods

  • Occasionally required to climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.

  • Must lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

  • Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, normal color vision, and depth perception.

  • Enclosed office space with frequent exposure to production and warehouse space; wearing all required PPE.

  • Work near moving mechanical parts, and exposed to humid conditions and moderate heat.
