Stryker Senior Inventory Accountant (Global COE) in Warsaw, Poland

As a member of the Technical Accounting Global Inventory COE team, this position will be responsible for complete and accurate inventory balance sheet and P&L reporting while complying with Stryker policies and procedures. The ideal candidate for this role will have a background in technical accounting/GAAP, coupled with the ability and desire to apply the concepts to “hands-on,” operational processes.

Key Activities & Accountabilities

  • Month end activities:

  • Calculate, reconcile, and analyze Inventory and Inventory related balance sheet and P&L items for period close; heavily utilizing advanced Excel techniques and Power Bi

  • Prepare month-end journal entries and formulate required accruals in accordance with GAAP

  • Maintain balance sheet accounts associated with one of the sub processes (GRNI/GIT, Costing, E&O, Assets) to include gross and net accounts and complete balance sheet reconciliations in accordance Stryker policies

  • Ensure all Inventory reports generated are accurate, complete, and reconcile to the General Ledger, including the required IPE procedures.

  • As requested, perform ad-hoc analytical support, such as: analyzing inventory trends at various data levels, testing inventory reserve levels for appropriateness

  • Support business on implementation and monitoring of Internal Controls and other Compliance requirements.

  • Ensure all Company policies are followed completely and accurately. Responsible for complying with Sarbanes-Oxley and all other applicable financial laws and regulations, company policies and implement corrective actions

  • Maintain up-to-date process documentation that incorporate changes in the business; may require updating or creating advanced Excel formulas and/or Power Bi workspaces or reports

  • Compliance:

  • Lead Analyst will support where needed/applicable for Internal and External Audits (mainly SOX related)

  • Responsible for supporting compliance related activities based on the daily tasks within Technical Accounting team for Global Inventory COE (like last time buys, bridge buys, exceptions on policies etc.) in close collaboration with Compliance Inventory COE team and Business Support team

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance or equivalent is required (Master’s required)

  • Fluent in English

  • Other languages such as Spanish/Polish/Dutch are nice to have

  • CPA qualification preferred

  • Excellent working knowledge & understanding of US GAAP is required

Experience

  • 3-5+ years experience in a complex inventory and/or other complex accounting functions in global organizations

  • ​Experience navigating and influencing in a matrix organization or working in a COE is preferred

  • Experience with complex and detailed inventory accounting is required

  • Should have the ability to see the ‘big picture’ and yet able to resolve day to day issues if required

  • Advanced proficiency with Excel (required) and Power Bi

  • Oracle/SAP/MFG/JDE experience is a nice to have
