SOL Engineering, LLC Business Analyst HPCMP in Washington, District Of Columbia

SOL is searching for a Business Analyst. The candidate will assist in devising and modifying procedures to solve complex problems, analysis of business and user needs, documentation of requirements, and translation into proper system requirement specifications.

Responsibilities

  • Formulate and define systems scopes and objectives based on both user requirements and applicable business systems and industry requirements

  • Assist in devising and modifying procedures to solve complex problems, analysis of business and user needs, documentation of requirements, and translation into proper system requirements specifications

  • Responsible for providing technical guidance concerning the business implications of the application of various systems

  • Assist in analyzing and evaluating financial data on a quantitative/qualitive basis to assess, plan and forecast process and program effectiveness

    Requirements

  • A Junior labor category is responsible for assisting senior positions and/or performing functional duties under the oversight of more senior positions

  • A Journeyman labor category typically performs all functional duties independently

  • A Senior labor category typically works on high -visibility or mission- critical aspects of a given program and performs all functional duties independently. A Senior labor category may oversee the efforts of less senior staff and/or be responsible for the efforts of all staff assigned to a specific job

  • Subject Matter Experts typically perform the following kinds of functions: Initiates, supervises, and/or develops requirements from a project's inception to conclusion for complex to extremely complex programs; Provides strategic advice, technical guidance, and expertise to program and project staff; Provides detailed analysis, evaluation, and recommendations for improvements, optimization development and/or maintenance efforts for client-specific or mission critical challenges/issues; Consults with the client to define need or problem, supervises studies, and leads surveys to collect and analyze data to provide advice and recommend solutions

    Education & Training

  • Junior, Requires a B.S./B.A. degree and up to 3 years of experience

  • Journeyman, Requires a MA/MS degree and 3 to 10 years of experience

  • Senior, Requires a MA/MS degree and over 10 years of experience

  • Subject Matter Experts, Requires a MA/MS degree and over 10 - 15 years of experience or proven industry experience as a subject matter exert
